WD is seeking a seasoned Government Affairs & Policy Director to lead its public policy engagement and regulatory strategy in Malaysia. This role will be instrumental in shaping the company’s relationship with government stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to support business growth and innovation in the region, WD’s strategic interests in Malaysia and strong public-private partnerships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead WD’s government relations and policy advocacy efforts in support of its operations in Malaysia.

Responsible for investigating and determining root causes of hard disk drive failures across development, qualification, manufacturing, and field operations. This role focuses on electromechanical, magnetic recording, firmware, and media-related failures, and works cross-functionally to drive corrective and preventive actions that improve product reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides verbal and written status including clear and accurate FA summaries and test reports to the Lead Engineer and the Department Manager.
• Maintain proper documentation of test procedures and results & update failure tracking databases and spreadsheets.

The Senior Packaging Engineer will lead packaging development and qualification activities for WD's HDD and Flash storage products. This is a technically hands-on and cross-functional leadership role — you will mentor junior engineers, drive complex packaging programs, and interface directly with customers, suppliers, and global engineering teams.

You are expected to operate with high autonomy, make independent technical decisions, and represent the Packaging Engineering function in NPI and sustaining programs.

Key Responsibilities : 
Technical Leadership

• Lead end-to-end packaging design, development, and qualification for complex HDD/Flash programs
• Define packaging architecture and material strategy for new and sustaining products
• Make independent technical decisions on packaging design trade-offs (cost vs. protection vs. sustainability)
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for packaging within cross-functional teams

Design & Qualification

• Own packaging qualification plans and test execution per ISTA/ASTM standards

• Perform routine and event-based environmental and equipment sampling to support operational readiness and cleanroom classification.                                
• Manage handling and qualification of cleanroom indirect materials by setting cleanliness criteria, performing inspections, and approving materials for use.                                   
• Define cleanroom protocols, including gowning, behavior, and contamination prevention practices, and provide training to ensure compliance.
