The Role

WATG is one of the world’s leading hospitality design and advisory practices, operating across a truly global portfolio of hotels, resorts and mixed-use destinations. From offices spanning London, Singapore, the US and the Middle East, the firm works with a diverse client base including major private equity houses, sovereign-backed developers and international operators. This role sits within the Advisory team in Singapore, working across an eclectic mix of assignments – from luxury resort developments in Asia-Pacific to large-scale mixed-use destinations in the Middle East and beyond. Working closely with WATG’s design studios, the team’s remit extends well beyond traditional feasibility studies and valuations. At its core, the role is about turning data into a creative, commercially compelling vision for hospitality assets.

The role

You will be responsible for analysing, structuring and communicating strategies that enhance the performance and long-term value of hotel, branded-residential and leisure assets. Crucially, the position is not purely analytical. Your work will inform both design direction and investment strategy, giving you a meaningful role in shaping how projects evolve rather than simply evaluating them.

This includes:

• Building detailed financial models and development appraisals for hotels and mixed-use schemes

• Interrogating market data, demand drivers and competitive positioning across global locations

• Assessing operational and spatial performance – from revenue per square metre to guest flow, dwell time and amenity mix

• Benchmarking against relevant comp sets and identifying opportunities to reposition or enhance assets

• Translating analysis into clear, design-led recommendations alongside architects and planners

You will also be client-facing, presenting findings and guiding stakeholders through the rationale behind each recommendation.

At the Senior Consultant level, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and help manage and mentor junior team members.

Profile

Candidates are likely to come from backgrounds, including development or asset management analysis, hotel valuations, or existing hotel advisory roles. An established hotel specialism and educational background are also greatly beneficial.

You will bring:

• Established experience within hospitality, real estate or related advisory

• Strong financial modelling and analytical capability

• An ability to think beyond the numbers – linking data to design, architecture, experience and commercial outcomes

• Confidence communicating complex ideas in a clear, client-facing way

• A genuine interest in hospitality, placemaking and how destinations perform

Exposure to international markets and an understanding of how different geographies operate is advantageous.

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Document Controller to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate documentation management and supporting project teams with efficient document control processes across all phases of the projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, maintain, and update the document control system for all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, correspondences, contracts, and reports.
• Ensure all documents are filed, stored, and retrieved accurately and promptly.
• Control issuance, tracking, and revision of documents in line with company procedures and project requirements.
• Distribute documents to project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders as required.
• Review completeness of documentation and prepares document transmittal for submission.
• Maintain registers of incoming and outgoing documents.
• Support project managers and site teams with document-related queries and compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to document control procedures, confidentiality, and version control protocols.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010 and Microsoft Outlook email client.
• Familiarity with Aconex is a must.
• Meticulous, Fast Learner, Proactive, Responsible and Accountability are key.
• At least Diploma/Degree in Business administration or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in the related field is required for this position.

ROLE

The Senior Project Designer is responsible for establishing overall design direction, developing buildings' designs, and overseeing documentation for mid-size to large-scale projects. This role provides leadership throughout the design phases, ensuring continuity from concept through design development while managing project financial performance and team communication in partnership with the Project Manager and Project Architect. The Senior Project Designer leads teams, proposes design solutions, monitors project progress, and maintains positive client relationships.

The Senior Project Designer mentors the team, supports marketing efforts, and upholds quality control standards while meeting project timelines and budgets. The Senior Project Designer reports to the Creative Director or Managing Principal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Project-focused, leads design execution on specific projects, ensuring they meet client expectations, design intent through all phases, budgets and schedules

• Leads multiple design teams on specific projects and ensures quality control and consistency

• Works directly with clients to meet project-specific goals

• Is deeply involved in project management and delivery

• Confirms that the design follows the contractual agreement with the client and that the project is on schedule and within budget

• Oversees the design team in ensuring that documentation for all phases of design conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards

• Proposes and develops effective design solutions to design problems to meet project goals

• Verifies that project needs and design intent are met by effectively managing design staff and ensuring the efficient utilization of resources

• Monitors design concepts through the design development phases

• Works with the design team in prioritizing, planning and executing several projects efficiently

• Understands and implements processes that reduce risks and exposure

• Establishes and fosters a commitment to ongoing, positive and productive internal and external client relationships and service

• Regularly communicates with internal team and client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews, and design delivery are on target

• Supports the marketing and business development activities of the studio when needed

• Mentors and develops team members, providing ongoing performance feedback to enhance team performance and contributions

REQUIREMENTS

• Professional degree from an appropriate accredited institution

• 15+ years of experience in the hospitality design of mid-size to large architectural projects, including urban and resort hotels

• Licensure and/or professional certification as appropriate

• Proficiency in software skills, including Revit. Rhino, Grasshopper, and Sketch-Up

• Sketching skills required

• Experienced in client management, project management, and negotiations

• Ability to work in a team environment and supervise and motivate others

• Ability to meet deadlines consistently and effectively

• Highly effective written and verbal communication

• Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills to effectively communicate design concepts

• Highly effective management and leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple project priorities while consistently achieving results
