About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Analyst to join the Securities Settlements Operations team. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with Trading Desks, internal stakeholders, agent banks, brokers, and market participants to ensure the timely and accurate settlement of securities transactions.
You will support post-trade processes, help mitigate operational risk, and contribute to the efficient functioning of trading and sales activities across the Asia region, with a primary focus on the Japan market.
About the Team
Asia Securities Settlements Operations supports trading and sales teams across the region by managing trade settlements and facilitating the successful exchange of securities and cash. The team is responsible for maintaining operational controls, managing settlement risks, and supporting business activities through effective post-trade processing.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure timely and accurate settlement of securities transactions.
• Monitor trade lifecycle events and manage settlement activities to mitigate operational risk.
• Liaise with agent banks, brokers, custodians, counterparties, and internal stakeholders via email and telephone.
• Perform trade pre-matching activities and proactively manage settlement exceptions.
• Investigate and resolve failed trades in accordance with market requirements and deadlines.
• Prepare operational reports and perform reconciliation and break resolution activities.
• Monitor inventory availability to facilitate successful trade settlements.
• Escalate risks, issues, and exceptions appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with Trading, Operations, Risk, and other internal teams to support business objectives.
Requirements
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in banking operations, securities operations, settlements, trade support, financial services operations, or related functions is advantageous.
• Knowledge of securities markets, equities, and post-trade operations will be beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and risk awareness.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in securities settlements, custody operations, trade operations, or post trade processing will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Japan equities markets and settlement practices will be beneficial.
• The ability to communicate effectively in Japanese may be advantageous for supporting interactions with Japan-based stakeholders and market participants where required by the role.
