1. Financial Operating and Reporting:
a. Maintain timely, accurate and compliant financial recording and reporting.
b. Maintain supporting documentation for all financial transactions.
c. Responsible for preparing monthly journals, bank reconciliations and ledger reconciliations.
d. Responsible for fund reporting (fund utilisation) , audits and compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.
e. Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for management and Board Review.
2. Account Payable and Receivable:
a. Process supplier invoices, staff claims and recurring payments in a timely and accurate manner.
b. Verify and prepare payment vouchers with proper supporting documentation
c. Issue invoices and track incoming payments, including donations and programmes fees.
d. Monitor ageing reports and follow up on outstanding receivables
3. Audit and Compliance
a. Support annual statutory audits, internal audits, and funder audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries.
b. Ensure compliance with the Charities Act, Account Standards for Charities (ASC) and internal financial policies.
c. Assist in the preparation of financial schedules and disclosures for the Annual Report and IPC submissions.
4. Budgeting and Grant Management
a. Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and variance reporting
b. Work closely with programme teams to support financial tracking of grants and project budgets
c. Monitor timelines and assist in preparation of financial reports for grantors and funders.
d. Prepare and submit funding and compliance reports in accordance with requirements from relevant government agencies
e. Consolidate event inputs from internal teams into clear, structured template reports for board submission.
5. Process Improvement and Controls
a. Support the refinement of finance processes to improve efficiency, transparency and compliance.
b. Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and recommend improvements where necessary.
6. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director to support organisational needs and priorities
