Job Summary
The Production Assistant supports daily production operations by ensuring safe, efficient processes that meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Modify bulk materials to prepare them for production equipment use
- Perform quality testing on finished products to ensure compliance with standards
- Conduct safety and compliance meetings to maintain workplace safety awareness
- Operate production machinery and tools following standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Manufacture products according to SOP in manufacturing processes
- Create progress and incident reports to document production status and issues
- Report machinery malfunctions or safety concerns promptly to managers
- Oversee packaging procedures and assess packaging integrity to ensure product quality
- Maintain safety and compliance guidelines throughout the production facility
- Follow and enforce health and safety guidelines among team members
- Support inventory management activities according to SOP
- Assist in stock take and cycle count periodically to maintain accurate inventory
- Support implementation and maintenance of workplace 5S policy for organization and cleanliness
- Assist with ad-hoc activities as assigned to support production operations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- High school diploma or NITEC / Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields
- At least 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate activities simultaneously
- Proactive problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly
- Strong attention to detail and effective teamwork skills
