KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Account Management
Serve as the single point of contact for company’s sourcing, commodity management, and engineering teams across designated regions.
Develop and execute a Joint Business Plan (JBP) with key customer to increase share of wallet in precision metal stamping, insert molding, and CNC machined components.
Monitor key customer’s product roadmaps and RFQ pipelines; proactively position 3G’s technical capabilities.
2. Business Development & Revenue Growth
Identify new project opportunities within key customer’s existing and next-generation interconnect products (e.g., high-speed connectors, automotive, data center solutions).
Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, long-term agreements (LTAs), VMI terms, and tooling cost amortization.
Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets (revenue, margin, and new program wins).
3. Cross-functional Coordination
Liaise between key customer’s engineering team and 3G’s internal production, QA, and tool room teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) alignment.
Manage the APQP/PPAP process for new precision components, ensuring zero-defect launches.
Track KPIs: OTD (On-Time Delivery), PPM (defect rate), and cost-down initiatives.
4. Market & Competitive Intelligence
Analyze key customer’s supplier scorecards and competitor activities (e.g., other precision engineering vendors).
Provide monthly forecasts and risk assessments related to raw material prices, capacity constraints, and lead times.
5. Contract & Compliance Management
Negotiate frame contracts, confidentiality agreements, and supply agreements in compliance with key customer’s ethical sourcing and quality standards (ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 if applicable).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience Requirement Detail
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Precision Engineering or Social Sciences or Business).
Experience
- 1-2 years in business development, key account management, or sales engineering within precision engineering, tooling, or high-volume manufacturing.
Specific exposure
- Must have prior experience dealing with key customers in the industry such as Molex, TE Connectivity, Amphenol, or similar tier-1 interconnect/electronics component manufacturers.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of precision machining (turning, milling, grinding), metal stamping (progressive dies), and injection molding (thermoplastics, overmolding).
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and measurement systems (CMM, vision systems).
- Understanding of supply chain requirements for automotive, medical, or data center end-markets (where key customer operates).
Soft Skills & Competencies
- Customer-centric mindset – Proven ability to build trust with engineering, procurement, and quality teams at key customers.
- Negotiation & commercial acumen – Skilled in long-term agreement structuring, pricing models, and cost reduction proposals.
- Problem-solving – Ability to lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for quality or delivery issues.
- Communication – Fluent in English (written & spoken). Mandarin or other Asian languages are a plus given key customer’s global footprint.
