Job Summary
The QS Manager is responsible for overseeing cost management, contract administration, and commercial activities for aluminium manufacturing and project-based operations. This role ensures accurate budgeting, cost control, and financial efficiency across production, fabrication, and installation projects. The QS Manager works closely with procurement, production, and project teams to optimize costs while maintaining quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Cost & Budget Management
Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts.
Conduct cost analysis for aluminium materials, fabrication, and installation processes.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
Contract Administration
Review, draft, and manage contracts, including terms, variations, and claims.
Handle tendering processes, including pricing, bid evaluation, and submission.
Manage variation orders, progress claims, and final accounts.
Procurement & Vendor Management
Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials and subcontractors.
Evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate pricing and terms.
Ensure cost-effective purchasing aligned with project specifications.
Project & Operational Support
Work closely with engineering and production teams to align cost plans with manufacturing processes.
Track project progress and ensure financial targets are met.
Support business development with cost estimates and feasibility studies.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare detailed cost reports, financial statements, and project updates.
Maintain accurate records of contracts, expenditures, and project documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in aluminium, construction, or manufacturing industries.
Experience in façade, curtain wall, or aluminium systems is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and contract management.
Familiarity with aluminium manufacturing processes and materials.
Proficiency in QS software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
