Based in our global headquarters in Singapore, this role bridges strategic high-stakes legal management with forward-looking operational excellence. He/ She will directly manage cross-border litigation, drive the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform legal workflows, and lead the harmonization of legal templates, standards, and practices across all jurisdictions in which we operate.
Key responsibilities:
1. Global Dispute Resolution and Litigation Management
- Formulate and execute the global strategy for all litigation, arbitration, and disputes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage external counsel globally, ensuring strict cost-control, budgeting and alignment with corporate commercial objectives.
- Conduct early case assessments to provide pragmatic, business-minded recommendations to executive leadership.
- Establish a global repository and tracking dashboard for active disputes, and where applicable develop early warning indicators for emerging legal risks.
2. Legal Transformation and AI Integration
- Lead the strategy, selection and implementation of LegalTech and generative AI tools to automate routine tasks, enhance contract lifecycle management, and optimize legal operations.
- Drive change management within the global and local legal teams to ensure seamless adoption of new digital / AI tools.
3. International Harmonization and Standardization
- Review, update and harmonize core legal templates (e.g. master services agreements, vendor contracts, etc.) to establish a unified global baseline, while ensuring compliance with local variations.
- Standardize legal policies, operational playbooks, and threshold limits for legal risk across all international subsidiaries.
- Foster cross-jurisdictional collaboration, ensuring that regional legal teams operate under a consistent, high-standard methodology.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a reputable university. Admission to the Singapore Bar or another major common law jurisdiction (e.g. UK and Australia) is required.
- Experience:
5 to 10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally blending top-tier law firm training with substantial in-house experience in a multinational corporation with a global or regional HQ structure.
- Litigation expertise and jurisdictional agility:
Experienced in managing cross-border commercial disputes and ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional legal landscapes, and managing diverse stakeholders across different cultural and legal environments.
- Tech-Savviness:
One who is highly passionate about LegalTech, AI applications in legal workflows, and workflow automation is strongly preferred.
- Attributes:
Good commercial acumen, change-management skills, and the clarity to communicate complex legal risks into actionable business strategies for executive leadership.
