Job Summary

Metta Preschool @ Punggol seeks an Early Intervention Teacher to deliver tailored lessons and collaborate with therapists, supporting children under 6 with special needs to reach their full potential in an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive lessons aligned with the early intervention curriculum to support developmental goals
• Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs and learning styles
• Track and document student progress to inform instructional adjustments and reporting
• Collaborate with therapists to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and set measurable goals
• Organize and facilitate outings, enrichment activities, and classroom events to enhance learning experiences
• Mentor new staff and interns by providing guidance and conducting On-the-Job Training (OJT) sessions
• Ensure adherence to ISO and NCSS/MSF standards to maintain quality and compliance in service delivery
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the centre’s operations and objectives

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood or Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (SDESN) preferred
• Experience working in preschool or special needs educational settings is advantageous

You will support adults with intellectual disabilities by planning and delivering training programmes, assessing client progress, maintaining records, and collaborating with caregivers and volunteers to enhance clients’ independence and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clients’ safety, hygiene, and well-being throughout daily activities
• Plan, support, and implement approved training programmes and activities for client development
• Help clients develop and maintain daily living skills, community living skills, and positive pro-social behaviour
• Conduct continuous assessment, training, and evaluation of clients’ holistic development to track progress
• Maintain accurate client records including attendance, progress reports, behaviour observation charts, incident reports, individual care plans (ICPs), and communication logs with caregivers
• Coordinate with caregivers and volunteers to support clients’ development and address their needs
• Monitor and report clients’ physiological and psychological well-being; escalate concerns promptly to appropriate personnel
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure quality service delivery aligned with the organisation’s mission
• Recommend and assist in implementing new programmes or behaviour-management plans to improve client outcomes
• Participate in agency events, fund-raising activities, and volunteer engagement as required

The Role: What You’ll Do

As a Teacher Aide, you are an essential partner to our Classroom Teachers. You will help manage classroom dynamics, prepare specialized learning resources, and provide 1-on-1 or small group support to ensure every child can participate meaningfully in our intervention programs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Classroom & Learning Support

• Assist teachers in executing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and daily classroom activities.

• Provide 1-on-1 guidance to students during lessons to help them stay focused and engaged.

• Support the management of student behaviors using positive reinforcement and strategies directed by the teacher.

• Assist with routine care, including arrival/dismissal roll calls, meal times, and toileting (if required).

2. Resource Preparation & Environment Management

• Prepare and organize teaching aids, visual schedules, and sensory-friendly learning materials.

• Ensure the classroom remains a safe, clean, and conducive "Ready-to-Learn" environment.

• Set up specialized work areas, schedule boards, and activity stations before each session.

3. Team Collaboration

• Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team (Teachers, Therapists) to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

• Assist in documenting simple observations of student progress or behavioral incidents as requested by the teacher.

• Participate in center-wide events, outings, and basic housekeeping duties to maintain high operational standards.

Job Requirements

• Education: Minimum GCE 'N' Levels or equivalent. A NITEC or Higher NITEC in Early Childhood or Social Services is a significant advantage.

• Experience: Prior experience working with young children or in a special needs (SPED) environment is preferred, but passionate entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.

Your role as PE Trainer:

• Design, plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons and games activities across variety of sports for students.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Sports and Health / Wellness from a recognised local educational institution, or related disciplines.
• At least 1 to 2 years of working experience as a physical trainer in academic institutions or commercial setting.
• Novice candidates may be considered based on attitude, energy and general work experience.
• Must have a Certified Personal Training certification from an accredited programme.
• Must be first aid and AED certified.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
