THE ROLE

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join the Internal Audit branch of the Compliance & Internal Audit Analytics team at Wise.

You’ll partner with Internal Audit (IA) to develop and implement the analytics strategy across the function.

Internal Audit serves as an independent 3rd line of defence that oversees and provides an independent assessment and reasonable assurance on the effectiveness of the company’s corporate governance structure + internal controls. 

The IA Analytics team supports IA by using analytics to provide more coverage, efficiency and accuracy to audit testing, as well as building innovative tools and using automation to support continuous testing and other IA activities beyond the annual audit plan.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Partnering with stakeholders across the IA function covering all regions, products and domains of the business (including Financial Crime, Ops, Risk, Finance and Technology). You will have a specific focus on APAC focused audits and working with the APAC regional team.

• Identifying & implementing opportunities to do the most impactful analytics within audits and influencing and upskilling your partners in IA to do the same

• Working with analytics, engineering, and business specialists to seek out and understand interesting and varied datasets, perform analytics using modern approaches, and develop a strong understanding of operations at Wise.

• Championing innovation and data-led insights, not just within audits but across all IA activities where analytics can add value

• Working on automation and tooling projects to increase efficiency across IA including workflow automation, continuous auditing, leveraging AI, and building MI dashboards.

Scope 

The Accounting Manager, Singapore will serve as the primary finance and accounting lead for the Company’s Singapore entity. This role is responsible for end-to-end local accounting operations, statutory compliance, payroll, treasury, and tax matters, while supporting public-company requirements and scalable processes. The position partners closely with global finance, local HR, and engineering teams to support rapid headcount growth and evolving business needs.

Responsibilities 

Financial Accounting, Close & Controls

• Maintain complete and accurate books and records for the Singapore entity in NetSuite, in accordance with US GAAP and Singapore statutory requirements.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Support SOX compliance, including internal control documentation, walkthroughs, and audit evidence requests in coordination with global finance

Procure-to-Pay, Treasury & Assets

• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring adherence to company policies and approval workflows.

As an Accountant 1, Accounting, and part of the Accounts Payable Team, you will be responsible on the end-to-end Invoice Processing for the assigned region or entity on a timely and accurate manner that requires close coordination with key stakeholders such as Payments Team, Local Accounting and Finance, Procurement and other Teams within GFO. You also need to ensure that issues or concerns will be addressed and resolved on a timely manner and to maintain a harmonious relationship with your stakeholders. It is also expected that you will contribute to the improvement of the entire AP process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including timely and accurate processing and validation of invoices.
• Ensure that Purchase Orders (PO) and Goods Receipts (GR) are properly matched and processed (3-way/2-way match).
• Verify, investigate, and handle invoice discrepancies and invoices on hold for assigned entities and suppliers.
• Handle and resolve inquiries from suppliers and stakeholders.
• Work cross functionally to resolve any invoice/payment issues.
• Review and reconcile supplier statement of accounts against company's records.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliation at month end for the assigned accounts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing projects.
• Compliance with SSC Accounts Payable KPIs and process metrics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
