Role purpose of the Business Acceptance Unit

• To process requests from partners for A&O to accept new legal matters including, in particular, performing anti-money laundering and background checks on new clients and performing conflicts checks (within internal databases) on each new matter (for both new and existing clients);
• To obtain from relevant lawyers required evidence of identity for new clients (and existing clients for whom the practice has done no work in the preceding two years and whose ownership or control may therefore have changed in the intervening period);
• To screen and, where requested, send conflict search emails (containing information on new legal matters) to all partners and to monitor responses, analyse search results and, in consultation with the originating lawyers, determine whether or not the new legal matter is clear of conflicts and appropriate for the practice to take on;

• Ensure accurate and timely updates are maintained in the Incident Management System, no ticket should be more than 5 days old without a regular update
• Receive and handle requests for support following agreed procedures
• Promptly allocate tickets/requests as appropriate
• Maintain relevant records and documentation

Infrastructure & Application Support

• Assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents and problems relating to application, infrastructure and/or, operating and network systems
• Carry out agreed operational and specified maintenance procedures of a routine nature
• Monitor routine operations and initiates corrective action if processes fail

Service Delivery

• Take responsibility for the resolution of incidents ensuring 1st and 2nd line resolution is achieved, within agreed SLAs
• Meet all OLA Service activity targets in line with performance targets defined for the technology service
• Ensure that requests are properly logged, assigned, tracked and responded to in a timely manner and according to agreed standards and procedures. Ensure customers and other interested parties are kept informed of progress and that corrective action is taken to avoid or minimise delays
• Manage all calls accurately using the BMC Helix (Service Desk) ticket logging system
• Flexible with hours in order to fully support the team and to ensure the effective running of the operation outside of working hours as required

Supplier Management

• Work with suppliers to deliver services in line with agreed SLAs

Risk Management

• Appropriate escalation of incidents and requests to the Senior IT Manager in line with A&O Shearman’s processes

Quality, Methods & Tools

• Follow processes to ensure an exceptional level of service is provided to both internal and external customers

Key Relationships:

• Work with internal customers and external clients to deliver a professional, customer focused service; prioritising accordingly
• Work closely with IT Manager to deliver an efficient and effective service
• Work with the wider Asia Pacific team to ensure a seamless approach to support and security across applications and infrastructure

What you will have

Experience & Competencies

• Proven experience in a customer facing role within an IT Support / Service Desk environment
• Knowledge of Service Desk operations, to include a good knowledge of IT best practice, industry trends and customer service
• Experience with Microsoft products (Office/OS), BMC Helix ticketing system
• Knowledge and experience with Video Conferencing and Audio Visual technology
• A proactive and solution-driven mindset with ability to demonstrate initiative by contributing new ideas through creative thinking
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in Thai and English, with the ability to explain technical instructions in a non-technical way

• Gather citizen and business requirements through service journey mapping and build business cases using rapid prototyping techniques.
• Produce user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria, and construct prototypes to validate requirements and measure delivered value.
• Research and recommend suitable technologies, including AI tools, ensuring alignment with central technology directions and whole-of-government solutions through hands-on experimentation.
• Assess and apply appropriate development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, across varying project environments.
• Oversee system readiness ahead of deployment and conduct impact assessments for proposed changes.
• Support the Chief Information Officer in surfacing digital transformation opportunities across the agency.
• Establish product vision, roadmap, and objectives that are anchored to overarching business strategy.
• Translate product strategies into actionable plans and leverage data analytics to guide product decisions.
• Facilitate workshops, focus group sessions, and sprint reviews to drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholder groups.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to iterate on solutions using tools such as Figma, Miro, JIRA, GitHub, GitLab, and rapid application development platforms including OutSystems.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT business analysis, solution design, and testing, with exposure to at least one full software or product development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in working with modern web technologies (e.g., React, JavaScript, Python, Java, .NET/C#), government development tools and CI/CD concepts including SHIP/HATS, and content management systems such as Sitefinity or SharePoint Online; a Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP), Scrum Master, or Product Owner certification is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent stakeholder management skills and the capacity to facilitate discussions across all levels of the organisation; a proactive, inquisitive mindset with the ability to code and iterate during planning sessions is essential.
