The successful candidate will work with Prof CHEN Wei on  Interface Engineering for low-dimensional materials based device applications under a project on NRF Investigatorship project:  Interface Engineered Ferroelectric 2D Materials for Artificial Synapses and Neuromorphic Computing”.

The main responsibilities of the position include One postdoc position is available at the Surface and Interface Lab (Prof. CHEN WEI’s group), National University of Singapore. The project focuses on the interface engineering for 2D materials based device and related electrical and optoelectrical characterization for memory and neuromorphic computing application.

Qualifications

The NCCS Division of Medical Oncology is looking for 4 Research Coordinators to join the BREXINT study team: Breast Cancer Exercise Intervention, a nationwide randomized study examining the effect of prescribed exercise (versus control) on cancer recurrence and survival in early breast cancer patients, as well as the behavioural tools that help make exercise a habit.

The Research Coordinator facilitates patient recruitment onto the study from all participating public hospitals in Singapore (each Research Coordinator is assigned 1-2 hospitals to cover), manages the patients’ appointment schedules, conducts questionnaires, inputs data onto spreadsheets, presents updates at regular meetings, liaises with other study team members, namely: doctors, nurses, clinic operations, physiotherapists, exercise trainers, exercise physiologists, academic psychologists, health economists, digital app collaborators.

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore is looking for researchers and engineers to develop next generation quantum computers based on trapped ions. There are multiple positions available at different levels with a diverse set of expertise. This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor system based on Yb-Ba ions emphasizing on the performance rather than on the qubit numbers. The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Research Fellow

• To design and advance the research activities of the centre in bioimaging projects.

• Perform research in experimental optics, bioimaging, spectroscopy, metrology and develop novel approaches for optical and nonlinear optical experiments and instrumentation. The position offers the opportunity to do research work in collaboration with external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

The RF will support focused research activities at COLE. He/ She will assist the Principal Investigators (PIs) in the successful execution of the projects and will also be encouraged to introduce new ideas and projects. The roles of this position include:

• Design and conduct bioimaging experiments using optical, fluorescence, confocal, multiphoton, photoacoustic, or other advanced microscopy and imaging modalities

• Prepare and handle biological samples, including cells, tissues, organoids, or in vivo models, in accordance with biosafety and ethical protocols.

• Conduct and coordinate research within NTU and collaborators in line with its research strategy and under the supervision of the PIs and Collaborators.

• Manage the research project in a team-based, cross-functional research environment, which includes mentoring students and working collaborators, technical and other support staff.

• Publish research outcomes in journals of international standing; Attend and present research findings and papers at academic meetings and contribute to the external visibility of the Centre.

• Draft research reports for PIs and undertake specific roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the PIs.

• Assist in drafting project proposals.

• Attend meetings and participate (where necessary) in other committees and working groups.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of the research work.

• The research staff is expected to work with the PI and other team members for doing R&D and take key role for the development of the systems for bioimaging and metrology

• Conduct and coordinate research within NTU and collaborating partners in line with its research strategy under the supervision of the PIs and collaborators

• Publish research outcomes in journals of international standing; Attend and present research findings and papers at academic meetings and contribute to the external visibility of the centre.

• Draft research reports for PIs and undertake specific roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the PIs.

Requirements:

• PhD in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics or a similar discipline with optics, bioimaging, spectroscopy and instrumentation background

• Previous experience in optics, bioimaging, optical measurement technologies, spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and metrology are desirable

• Strong background in biological imaging principles and optical instrumentation

• Hands‑on experience with one or more bioimaging techniques (e.g. fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, live‑cell imaging, photoacoustics)

• Expertise in handling and maintenance of high-power CW and pulsed laser systems, spectrometers, high-resolution cameras, and delicate optical components are desirable

• Expertise in advanced data analysis techniques (Machine learning and Deep learning) would be an added advantage

• Possess good programming, optical instrumentation, automation and data processing skills (e.g. C++, LabVIEW, Zemax, OSLO, TracePro, MATLAB, Python, ImageJ)

• Proven publication track record would be an advantage
