Job Responsibilities

As an Assistant Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in the design, development, and support of mechanical components and assemblies.

Your responsibilities include:

• Creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks based on engineering requirements
• Preparing manufacturing drawings including GD&T, tolerances, BOM, and material specifications

Project Overview

This project aims to develop and clinically validate a real-time blood analysis and diagnostic platform using an integrated microfluidic medical device. The platform uses precision microfluidic technology to process and profile the biological activity of white blood cells, which is related to inflammatory conditions ranging from diabetes and sepsis to leukemia.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate - Data Scientist will lead the acquisition, preprocessing, analysis, and modelling of medical device-generated data, and will work closely with clinicians, scientists, and engineers to translate AI/machine learning models into working, deployable software for clinical testing and point-of-care use.

Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Research Associate - Data Scientist is responsible for developing end-to-end data and AI/ML workflows for the medical diagnostic platform, from device data acquisition and signal/data preprocessing to model optimisation, validation, software integration, and deployment.

- Work closely with clinicians, scientists, software engineers, mechanical/electrical engineers, and data scientists to define clinical use cases, data requirements, model outputs, and deployment workflows for the medical device platform.

- Maintain high-quality documentation of datasets, code repositories, model versions, experimental protocols, validation results, data dictionaries, and technical reports.

- Prepare manuscripts, presentations, grant reports, and invention disclosures; contribute to literature reviews, patent/IP searches, and responsible research dissemination where relevant.

- Support clinical study workflows by coordinating with clinical collaborators and applying good data governance practices for sensitive clinical and experimental data.

Requirements

- Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computational Biology, or a related field. Candidates close to completion may be considered if the degree will be conferred before appointment.

- Demonstrated research experience in data science, machine learning, deep learning, signal/image processing, biomedical data analysis, time-series analysis, clinical AI, or related computational research.

- Strong programming skills in Python; experience with common scientific and ML frameworks such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, Jupyter, and Git/GitHub.

- Experience with data acquisition, data cleaning, feature engineering, model optimisation, evaluation, reproducibility, version control, and scientific software development.

1. Carry out site supervision and inspection of the works including any off-site manufacturing as instructed by the Other Consultants so as to ensure that works are constructed to required quality and accuracy; in accordance to the Other Consultants’ Specifications.

2. Monitor progress of the works on site and at any off-site manufacturing facilities and report delays immediately.

3. Ensure that all submissions by the Contractor are in proper order.

1. Strategize, oversee and coordinate the overall quality assurance and quality control processes, including enforcement & inspections activities.

2. Liaise, coordinate and cooperate with Other Consultants to resolve on-site design and technical/coordination issues in a timely manner.

3. Carry out the proper and full-time site supervision work for the satisfactory construction and completion of all building works including but not limited to architectural and interior design (ID) works, all in compliance with the specified requirements in the contracts between the Employer with the Contractor (which includes any subcontractor whether nominated or privately engaged by the Contractor), and in accordance with the relevant building authorities’ rules, regulations and requirements.

4. Manage and organize the M&E site team to ensure orderliness and coordination of work processes on site. Attend to & provide timely and quality advice to the other Site Staff/ RTO in resolving problems.

5. Review and assign week to week work schedule for the entire site team including ID, Façade, C&S and M&E. Organize with assigned Site Staff/ RTOs to ensure all site diaries and inspection records are kept, consolidated & filed weekly.

6. Liaise with the Other Consultants to ensure that Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical queries from the Contractor are responded in a timely manner.

7. Review contract documents and drawings and highlight if there are any discrepancies between these documents. All discrepancies shall be brought to the attention of the Other Consultants concerned.

8. Seek clarification from the SO/SOR/SORA on any apparent discrepancies between site and contract drawings, specification requirement, approved shop drawing, CSD and room book, etc. before giving any directions to the Contractor.

9. Organize the information gathering and compilation, and render assistance to the Other Consultants in the review of the Contractor’s Claims.

10. Report regularly on the overall project status, assist with the preparation of the Certificate of Stage Completion, Progress Reports, design coordination, buildability and quality issues.

11. Review Contractor’s works methodology, remedial details and material submissions and ensure that all installation methods and material used are in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications.

12. Ensure checking & approval of shop drawings, catalogues and samples by the Design-Site Team are executed in a timely manner.

13. Liaise with the Contractor in resolving site installation problems. All problems on site shall be referred immediately to the Other Consultants.

14. Monitor the Contractor’s installation works against the construction programme. In the event of delays, the SRA shall assist the Contractor to mitigate delays but without compromise on quality.

15. Review all Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and coordinate with Employer in handing over of the works/MEP installations to Employer’s assigned maintenance staff.

16. Attend meetings & working sessions as required by the SO/SOR/SORA.

17. Ensure that all incoming and outgoing design, shop, construction and cocoordination drawings are properly recorded, collated and filed.

18. Check the accuracy of all RAOV/RFI to ensure they are recorded, costed and issued appropriately, including all necessary clarification with the QS on the extent of changes.

19. Be able to explain to the Employer when necessary the reasons for the RAOV/RFIs.

20. Check and review the Contractor’s site progress in line with the Other Consultant’s instructions. Conduct site meetings with site staff for updates and coordination of works at specified intervals.

21. Ensure that daily activities are recorded and or any other form of records as required to facilitate the works, are properly maintained on site by site staff.

22. Ensure issuance of defects list and monitor/supervision progress of rectification works are executed.

23. Conduct site check in conjunction with the Employer & Project Managers in assessing dispute claims & variation orders by the Contractor, when necessary.

24. Ensure that the Contractor records accurately on drawings, the installation works on site. This is to ensure that the as-built drawings reflect accurately the work that has been done on site.

25. Verify that all constructed works are in accordance with drawings approved by the relevant authorities prior to any such authorities’ inspection.

26. Ensure compliance with widths of all escape routes, stairs, handrails, doors.

27. Ensure compliance to the fire safety standards governed by the Code of Practice for Fire Precautions in Buildings issued by the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

28. Ensure compliance to the relevant Code on Accessibility in the Built Environment as governed by the Building and Construction Authority in Singapore.

29. Assist the Contractor to organise formal inspections required by the relevant Authorities.

30. Ensure that all comments/non-conformance issued by the relevant authorities are addressed and rectified on site within two weeks of receipt.

31. Ensure that all installation works are in accordance with approved methods, and material used is in accordance with contract drawings and specifications.

32. Witness tests carried out by Contractor and record the results, and assisting in testing and commissioning of all works / MEP systems.

33. Attend meetings & working sessions as required by the SO/SOR/SORA.

34. Ensure the accuracy of and endorse on as-built drawing.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sales Management: Direct and oversee the entire sales process, targeting customers in line with the company's strategic objectives. Responsible for not only initiating customer interaction, but also guiding the final sales and ensuring successful follow-up.

• Business Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with partners and customers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market. Identify new programs, market segments, and opportunities that build on the company’s core MIMO solutions.

• Event Support: Participate in trade shows, conferences, and customer events to support sales development.

• Market Awareness: Stay updated on market trends, changes, and competitor actions that may impact the company's positioning. This includes setting and meeting an annual target for new business to support growth in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market.

• Pipeline Management: Contribute to building a robust pipeline of business opportunities. Regularly update the CRM database with a forecast of opportunities to help inform key business decisions.

• Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our MIMO solutions. This knowledge will help effectively communicate the value and benefits of our products to customers and prospects.

• Customer Service: Foster a customer-centric approach in all dealings. Promptly address any customer concerns or complaints and use feedback to provide improvements.

• Travel Requirements - up to 50% of the time, but variable.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university plus minimum 10 years of demonstrated business development and sales experience in a technical field.
• Deep understanding of APAC procurement and MARCORSYSCOM, MCTSSA, and PMTCE program offices. 
• Knowledge of military C2, C5ISR, EW, or SIGINT applications.
• Military/Aerospace industry and acquisition experience.
• Solid understanding of APAC DoD funding and procurement cycles.
• Experience leading all phases of business capture (whitepapers, proposals, RFI/RFP response, teaming, strategic positioning, etc.).

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Demonstrated business development and sales experience in autonomous military systems.
