The Director, SEA Tax is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all tax matters across Southeast Asia, while aligning with the global tax strategy.

This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and diving deep into detailed processes, data and technical issues.  The successful candidate must be able to understand complex, end‑to‑end tax workflows, identify risks and inefficiencies, and drive sustainable improvements - while also connecting tax outcomes to business strategy, risk management, and operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Regional Tax Leadership & Strategy

• Act as the tax leader for SEA, providing oversight across direct tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and cross‑border matters.

3. Audit, Controversy & Risk Management

• Lead all tax audits, assessments, rulings, and appeals across SEA in collaboration with external advisors.

• Develop and execute robust audit defense strategies supported by sound technical analysis and documentation.

4. Transfer Pricing & Cross‑Border Matters

• Partner with the Global Transfer Pricing team on TP policy, intercompany agreements, documentation and audit support.

• Evaluate tax implications of business model changes, supply‑chain restructuring, and new or evolving intercompany arrangements.

• Advise on permanent establishment risks, cross‑border services, and intercompany flows.

5. Incentives Governance

• Oversee tax incentive strategy and governance, including applications, compliance with conditions, and ongoing monitoring.

6. Business Partnering & Strategic Projects

• Act as a trusted tax advisor to business, finance, legal, and operations leaders.

• Provide tax input into strategic initiatives, including M&A, reorganizations, cross‑border structuring, and system implementations.

• Ensure tax considerations are embedded early into commercial and operational decision‑making.

• Lead and manage a team of Solution Consultants / Solutions Architects (Presales) aligned with our APAC business objectives
• Work in partnership with Sales Leaders in planning, forecasting, running QBRs, presales coverage, enabling the region and meeting revenue targets.

• Work across multiple customer-facing teams (Sales, Business Development, Product, Engineering, Customer Success) to improve the product's vision and to make global businesses and organizations successful.
• Articulate and educate on business, technical and architectural concepts to a variety of audiences, including business users, developers, architects, IT operations professionals, and senior IT management.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

• Strong experience in leading and building presales organizations in the Asia region.
• BA/BS or equivalent education - Computer Science is a plus
• 10+ years of pre-sales experience in a SaaS organization
• 5+ years of leading and managing diverse team in a SaaS organization 
• Strong background and knowledge in enterprise integration and automation across multiple verticals.
• Experience in enterprise architecture, middleware and enterprise software
• Experience developing customer-specific value propositions and roadmaps
• Integrating vendors include MuleSoft, Microsoft, Boomi, Oracle, TIBCO, SAP, Snaplogic etc.

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Director to lead the definition and execution of the organisation’s end-to-end technical strategy across its platforms and products. This role is responsible for shaping the overall architecture, technology roadmap, and engineering standards to ensure all solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

As the organisation’s senior technical authority, you will partner closely with leadership, customers, and technology partners to drive solution success, while overseeing engineering excellence, governance, and delivery outcomes across complex programmes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Strategy & Architecture

• Own and define the end-to-end technical architecture across platforms and solutions 
• Develop and maintain enterprise technology roadmaps, reference architectures, and technical standards 
• Evaluate, approve, and guide adoption of new and emerging technologies

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Systems, or related discipline) 
• Master’s degree will be an advantage 
• Minimum 15 years of experience in systems integration, enterprise platforms, or large-scale technical environments 
• Proven track record in leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering programmes 
• Strong expertise in several of the following areas:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage RFQ, NPD, NPI, FA and Product Transfer.

• Prepare requisition for order, review supplier offers, make technical bid evaluation if required.

• Liaise and coordinate with customers and other departments pertaining to project activities and order fulfilment

• Work closely with customers on audit, engineering change order

• Responsible for projects transferred from development to operations, ensuring that documents and procedures are in place to independently handle repeat sales orders.

• Monitor and manage Suppliers’ performance to meet delivery, cost and quality targets

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to meet Key Performance Indicators and Operational deliverables.

• Responsibility & coordination of the complete certification process from application to approval for products

Skills & Qualification:

• Degree/Diploma/Higher Nitec in Electronics/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering

• Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry,. Contract manufacturing background will be at advantage

• Experience in communicating with contract manufacturers / suppliers

• Must able to analyse technical drawing/specification

• Experience in SAP system is a plus

• Holder of at least three registered patents related to energy efficiency and carbon reduction technologies within the Asia-Pacific region.
• In-depth understanding of low-carbon technologies, carbon asset management and sustainable business models, with proven experience leading teams to deliver green transformation and sustainability consulting services to at least 10 manufacturing companies with annual revenues exceeding SGD 1 million.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to define clear directions in complex environments.
• Strong communication, negotiation and cross-cultural interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of achieving cumulative sales exceeding SGD 1 million in the China market and fluency in Chinese for client engagement.
