AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF), Singapore, to build and anchor deep national capabilities in AI.

AI Singapore (AISG) in partnership with the SAF AI Centre (SAIC), is seeking an experienced AI engineer to provide mentorship and consultancy to SAIC engineering teams, support real-world project selection for skills deepening, and enable professional certification readiness.

SAIC is a unit within the Digital and Intelligence Service, dedicated to addressing SAF's operational data science challenges and operationalising AI solutions. As the centre of excellence for AI, SAIC enhances the operational capabilities of SAF, driving productivity and efficiency through innovative AI solutions that advance SAF's defence capabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Develop and deliver AI courses and programmes that raise AI fluency level for SAF workforce, including but not limited to playbooks for operational users and raising awareness of common AI use cases within SAF.
• Provide technical mentorship via sprints or personal mentorship; capture feedback on knowledge sharing and technical problem-solving impact.
• Identify real-world AI projects that build software engineering depth and machine learning pipeline skills of workforce for certification readiness. 
• Assist Senior AI Engineer to develop and maintain a job-skills-proficiency (JSP) map.
• Assist Senior AI Engineer to execute AI engineer certification programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 1 year in software engineering / ML engineering / applied AI and deploying models into production.

Get to Know the Role

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of outgoing products within high-volume manufacturing environments, in alignment with specifications and quality standards. This role is essential in verifying that all products meet customer requirements, internal benchmarks, and regulatory obligations before shipment. You will also support quality assurance activities, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold consistently high standards in product delivery.

Essential Responsibilities

• Inspect finished goods, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
• Validate completeness and accuracy of outgoing documents, including reports and certificates of conformance
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure only compliant products are shipped
• Monitor outgoing quality metrics and support responses to internal and customer inquiries
• Assist engineers in quality initiatives and track the effectiveness of implemented actions

Other Responsibilities

• Participate in review and improvement of outgoing quality procedures and workflow

Skills and Competencies Profile

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related field, fresh graduates may apply, OR
• 1 – 3 years of relevant working experience in the semiconductor industry, or prior experience in quality assurance, is preferred

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Soft Skills:

• Able to work independently with initiative and strong accountability
• Strong team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and familiarity with quality inspection procedures

Additional Information

• Willing to work in a 12-hour rotating day / night shift (4 working days / 3 rest days / 3 working days / 4 rest days)
• Able to work in a cleanroom environment and perform overtime as and when necessary
