Role Overview

The ETF Quant Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining production-grade software supporting ETF portfolio construction, index tracking, rebalancing, risk analytics, and execution workflows.

Reporting to the Head of Quant Technology, this individual will work closely with the ETF Team, Portfolio Managers, Investment teams, and Technology partners to ensure that the ETFs products are implemented efficiently, at scale, with strong controls, governance, and data integrity.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering discipline with a good understanding of financial markets—particularly ETFs, equity indices, factor strategies, and portfolio optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, Develop and maintain production-grade quantitative libraries for ETF portfolio construction, index replication, and rebalancing logic.
• Develop pre- and post-trade analytics covering implementation shortfall, slippage, market impact, and transaction cost attribution.
• Build monitoring tools for ETF market quality metrics, including premium/discount, basket accuracy, NAV dissemination checks, and tracking difference drivers.
• Work closely with Authorized Participants, Market Makers, custodians, and calculation agents to reliably create and redeem shares.
• Work closely with operations and fund accounting teams to ensure data consistency across portfolio systems, custodians, and administrators.

Required Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of experience in quant development, quantitative engineering, or financial systems development within asset management, hedge funds, or investment banks.
• Strong experience with software engineering best practices: modular design, APIs, testing, performance optimisation, and clean code.

• Expert‑level proficiency in Python and R for building production‑grade quant systems. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience designing and operating high-quality data pipelines, batch workflows, and data quality controls for validation, lineage, and monitoring. Experience working with market data providers and sourcing/managing production quality data.
• Experience building intraday tools to monitor liquidity, spreads, and capacity, supporting execution decisions around rebalances and index events.
• Experience working directly with ETF Portfolios or Index Strategies. Strong understanding of ETF structure and lifecycle, including creation/redemption mechanics, AP/market maker ecosystem.

Education

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Provide ongoing support for existing Power Platform Canvas and Model-driven apps to ensure operability and implement enhancements requested by stakeholders.
• Continuously update and create technical documentation, solution designs, and user guides.
• Manage the deployment of solutions across development, testing, and production environments.
• Perform testing and debugging of applications and workflows to ensure reliability and security.
• Design and develop custom business applications using the Power Platform suite, including integration with services hosted on the Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) when required.
• Build and manage automated workflows using Power Automate to connect various apps and services, including handling approvals and automating repetitive tasks.
• Develop reports and dashboards using Power BI to provide business insights from multiple data sources or applications.
• Collaborate with the solutioning team to translate business requirements into functional and technical designs.
• Create and iterate functional prototypes (MVPs) to gather immediate feedback from stakeholders.

Summary:

Develop and manage engaging and effective training curricula and content aligned with the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) framework, ensuring relevance, quality, and compliance with SSG standards and guidelines. This role requires a deep understanding of the SSG framework, adult learning principles, and curriculum design best practices.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development & Design:

* Conduct thorough needs analysis to identify skill gaps and learning objectives aligned with industry demands and SSG framework competency standards.

* Design and develop comprehensive training curricula, including learning outcomes, assessment methods, and learning materials.

* Ensure curriculum content is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with SSG's sector-specific frameworks and national skills initiatives.

* Develop engaging and interactive learning materials, such as presentations, workbooks, online modules, and videos, utilizing various multimedia formats.

* Incorporate adult learning principles and methodologies into curriculum design to maximize learner engagement and knowledge retention.

* Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure learner progress and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum.

* Regularly review and update curricula to reflect changes in industry best practices and SSG guidelines.

Content Management & Maintenance:

* Manage the lifecycle of training content, from initial development to ongoing maintenance and updates.

* Ensure all learning materials are accurate, consistent, and compliant with SSG requirements.

* Maintain a central repository of training materials and ensure easy access for instructors and learners.

* Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.

* Manage version control and track changes to curriculum and content.

SSG Framework Compliance:

* Maintain a thorough understanding of the SSG framework, including its various components and updates.

* Ensure all curricula and content meet SSG's quality standards and accreditation requirements.

* Work closely with SSG representatives to ensure compliance and seek necessary approvals.

* Stay informed about changes and updates to the SSG framework and adapt curricula accordingly.

Collaboration & Communication:

* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including instructors, SMEs, and SSG representatives.

* Communicate effectively with stakeholders on curriculum development progress and any challenges encountered.

* Provide training and support to instructors on the use of new curricula and content.

Other Duties:

* Participate in industry events and conferences to stay abreast of current trends and best practices.

* Contribute to the continuous improvement of training programs and processes.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, or a related field and DACE.

* Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design.

* Deep understanding of the SkillsFuture Singapore framework and its application.

* Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and methodologies.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Proficiency in using various multimedia tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
