Job Summary

We are looking for a Finance Manager to manage and oversee the daily finance operations of the company. This role is responsible for supervising the finance team, especially Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring accurate accounting records, timely month-end closing, proper reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, and compliance with internal controls.

The Finance Manager will report to the Finance Controller and act as the key person managing the execution of finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations

• Manage the daily finance operations of the company.

Team Management

• Ensure finance team members complete their daily, weekly, and monthly tasks on time.
• Build a disciplined, accurate, and accountable finance operations culture.
• Ensure proper backup arrangements within the finance team.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MICPA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably with experience supervising a finance team.
• Experience in managing AP, AR, bank reconciliation, month-end closing, and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of accounting standards, internal controls, SST, and basic tax compliance.

Role purpose: Support the daily operations of the Singapore Finance & Reporting function and provide analysis on sales and profit variances for the trading business, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), billing, matching, and month-end cut-off (including goods-in-transit).
• Own and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, including close calendar, schedules, and timely submission of reporting packs (e.g. Hyperion).
• Prepare and review monthly management reports, forecasts, and variance analysis(P&L and Balance Sheet) to support business performance discussions.
• Support credit control activities, including adherence to credit policies/approval matrix, AR follow-up, and credit insurance renewals and administration.
• Coordinate statutory and group reporting requirements, and support audits including journal/audit adjustment review and IFRS-to-FRS reconciliation.
• Support budgeting activities, including sales and raw materials planning inputs, budget preparation, and explanations to stakeholders as required.
• Manage tax and compliance activities including quarterly GST preparation, supporting corporate tax computations, tax provision calculations, and responding to IRAS queries (data support).
• Oversee key cash management controls, including bank reconciliation review, cashflow forecast review, and backup support for payment processing.
• Maintain finance master data governance for GL/accounting; partner with IT to resolve system issues and drive process automation improvements (e.g., M3, Power BI).
• Maintain and improve finance policies, SOPs, and internal controls; identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to the AP/AR support team and Senior Accounts Executive, with progressive expansion of responsibilities.

Role Overview

The Finance Manager will support financial strategy, business operations, and regional expansion initiatives. This is not a traditional accounting role. You will act as a key business partner to leadership, providing financial insights, supporting decision-making, and ensuring strong financial governance as the company scales across international markets.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across finance, operations, and businessteams.

Work Arrangement

Initial 3–6months based in Kuala Lumpur (KL), followed by relocation to Japan. Full relocation support provided, including visa sponsorship and housing.

KeyResponsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports
• Analyze financial data to support business decisions and growth strategies
• Monitor key financial metrics and identify trends or risks

2. Business Partnering

• Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
• Provide financial insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability
• Support strategic planning and expansion activities

3. Financial Operations & Control

• Oversee financial processes, reporting, and compliance
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Manage cost control, cash flow, and resource allocation

4. Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
• Support implementation of financial tools and automation
• Enhance reporting efficiency and data visibility

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or related roles
• Strong financial analysis and business partnering experience
• Experience in fast-paced or growth-stage environments
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin and English to support Chinese-speaking customers and regional stakeholders
• Willingness to relocate to Japan

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in SaaS, tech, or digital business environments
• Regional or international exposure
• Familiarity with financial systems and data tools
• Experiencesupporting scaling or expansion businesses
