This is a 2-year contract position as a Lead R&D Engineer in the Centre for Environmental Sustainability.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead the design and development of embedded control systems for industrial and building energy applications
• Architect control systems at component, sub‑assembly, and system level, including controller selection, I/O design, and communication architecture
• Develop and implement control software using PLC platforms and high‑level programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, Python)

Job Responsibilities

Meetings, Projects & Events Administration

• Coordinate with the Faculty Leadership Development (FLD) team to plan and schedule meetings, projects and events.

The Language and Social Cognition Lab at Singapore University of Technology and Design invite applications for a Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary research project examining human-human and human-AI communication in multilingual/multicultural contexts, with a particular focus on senior adults in Singapore.  

This project examines how linguistic diversity, cultural norms, and aging shape communicative breakdowns and adaptations in interactions involving large language model (LLM)-based conversational agents. The candidate will conduct mixed-methods research, including interviews, behavioral experiments, discourse analysis of multilingual dialogue, and field user studies in local elder-care settings.
