The successful candidate will play a key role in helping to establish the Science Department, initially delivering engaging lessons in Mathematics in Years 5 to 10, growing through to Year 11.

The Research Assistant will join a new project awarded by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) and Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute Singapore (CFI) collecting data from the Johor Strait to better protect Singapore’s coastline amidst climate change. Understanding the relationship between local climate drivers, coastal processes and sediment dynamics will allow for improved predictions of coastal change under the variety of climate scenarios in the coming decades.

The work will involve assisting in the preparation and coordination for field surveys, organization and management of field and lab equipment, purchases and procurement assisting in laboratory analyses and communications for internal reporting and preparing external reports. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and track all project submission of grant progress, claims, deliverables and other documents to ensure timely response and adherence to the service delivery

• Identify, assess, and implement new technologies and processes, including collaboration with external partners (universities, research institutes, and technology providers).

• Establish and continuously improve laboratory capabilities, including process development and analytical methods to support R&D activities.

• Drive continuous improvement of existing operations through process optimization and introduction of alternative treatment methods.

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, documentation standards, and all safety, health, and environmental requirements; maintain proper laboratory housekeeping.

• Support evaluation and development of handling procedures for high-risk and high-value waste streams.

• Contribute to new business development, including identifying opportunities, supporting new projects, and participating in facility planning and operations.

What You’ll Do
