THE ROLE:

AMD’s Heterogenous Technology Integration (HIT) team is seeking an experienced leader to establish its Singapore Advanced Packaging Lab, a multi-disciplinary lab focused on accelerating the development of advanced packaging technologies for AMD’s AI product portfolio.

THE PERSON: 

The team will enable and maintain metrologies across optical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and imaging domains, while also identifying and partnering with external labs, equipment vendors, universities, and industry collaborators to develop new measurement capabilities. Beyond core metrology work, the team will support simulation, physical design, and other lab-related activities, and may interface with Asia-based manufacturing partners.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing and scaling technical teams, along with a strong network within the Singapore tech ecosystem to support team growth and partnership development. Hands-on experience in one or more of the technical areas mentioned will be advantageous. Additional strengths include strong presentation skills to effectively engage and influence US-based partner teams, a proven track record of working with equipment suppliers to develop innovative instruments and metrologies, and familiarity with leveraging agentic AI to drive productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of the Singapore Advanced Packaging Lab will build and lead a multidisciplinary team to establish and scale advanced measurement and characterization capabilities across key domains, including:

• Optical: Drive characterization of optical interconnects at component and channel level to support next-generation packaging architectures.
• Electrical: Lead characterization of passives (capacitors, inductors), high-speed IO structures, and electrical properties of packaging materials.
• Mechanical: Oversee measurement of mechanical properties of packaging materials, including warpage and structural integrity of substrates and fully assembled packages.
• Thermal: Establish capabilities to evaluate thermal properties of next-generation TIMs and materials, including development of short-loop thermal test vehicles to assess future packaging architectures.
• Imaging: Develop and expand advanced imaging capabilities, including optical and electron microscopy, X-ray imaging, and spectroscopy.

In addition, the role will:

• Define and execute the lab’s technical roadmap in alignment with AMD’s AI packaging strategy.
• Build and scale a high-performing team with deep domain expertise across metrology and characterization.
• Drive collaboration with global engineering teams (design, simulation, manufacturing) and external partners to accelerate capability development.

Job Description

• Lead and manage medium to large-sized electrical engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
• Develop and oversee electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other building components
• Prepare detailed project specifications, cost estimates, and design programs
• Manage project finances and resources to meet agreed-upon deliverables within budget
• Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and progress
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and relevant codes and standards
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our electrical engineering practices and methodologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a proven track record in design and project management
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including local Singapore regulations
• Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar tools
• Experience with BIM software packages and their application in electrical design
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage resources, timelines, and budgets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements

Job Summary

Lead the design and delivery of tailored leadership development and management solutions. Drive revenue growth by expanding client relationships and facilitate senior-level workshops to enhance leadership, strategy, and innovation capabilities across regional blue-chip clients.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, develop and deliver customized experiential learning solutions, in the subject of Leadership Development, Strategy, Finance, and/or Innovation, including information gathering from key client stakeholders to match pecific needs and business objectives of global and regional clients
• Grow local/regional revenues for the Leadership and Coach Practice in APAC by increasing share of wallet within existing clients
• Facilitate senior-level workshops to develop business, leadership, strategy, business, innovation acumen, and manage change in regional blue-chip clients.
• Be the Subject-Matter-Expert to support BTS account managers in growing their existing accounts by cross-selling Leadership and Management solutions
• Master the existing Leadership and Management portfolio of solutions and facilitate training workshops
• Work collaboratively with team members across BTS business practices and regions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• At least 13 - 20 years of experience with an excellent track record in developing and delivering talent solutions, particularly in the field of Leadership Development. Prior experience in business or commercial area, would be an added advantage.
• Experience in selling consulting services or leadership training with a demonstrated track record of achievement in a variety of industries
• Certification or prior experience in psychometric assessments and its application in leadership development will be an advantage
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with an authentic and confident presence that builds credibility and trust
• Ability to conceptualize and sell a vision, then design or co-create corresponding solutions
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple streams of work at high quality
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and deliver under tight timelines
• A mature, humble, professional, and hands-on team player
• Alignment with BTS values, including client centricity and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Fluency in spoken and written English (Ability to facilitate workshops in other Asian languages will be a plus)
