• The role requires a PEB (Registered in Singapore) with Masters/Degree, from Engineering Consultancy or Design/Architectural Practice with above 15 years of senior-level experience
• Building/Property/Commercial Projects – To provide technical leadership and governance, supporting work winning, design, and multi-disciplinary delivery. Data-centre experience is required
• Act as the key point of accountability, aligning client requirements with technical execution and team performance.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities to support the consultancy’s growth in allocated market for Building/Property/Commercial
• Provide expertise advice on design quality in projects and develop knowledge sharing capability within the teams.Recommend the needs of software/equipment to meet engineering works.
• Act as a technical adviser for junior colleagues in the design and project management of projects.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Technical Director – Structural Engineer join our diverse Structures team, across Australia. This role offers a rare chance to step into a Director position within our National Building Engineering team, contributing to landmark projects across ANZ. 

Whilst our preference is Adelaide, this role can also be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. 

How you’ll make a difference:

• Lead the delivery of complex structural and multi-disciplinary building projects across sectors such as health, defence, transport, commercial, aviation, and data centres throughout Australia.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight of structural design, ensuring compliance with Australian codes, standards and best-practice engineering principles across all projects.
• Drive innovation and excellence in project execution, reviewing design calculations, specifications, models, and drawings to ensure quality outcomes and coordinated multi-disciplinary delivery.
• Build and maintain strategic client relationships, supporting business development and securing a strong pipeline of high-profile structural projects.
• Mentor and develop senior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth, leadership capability, and a culture of engineering excellence.
• Further strengthen AECOM’s structural engineering presence across ANZ, influencing strategy, team growth and national capability development.
