Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our LC/MS R&D team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in accelerating the development and refinement of our next-generation LC/MS instrumentation. You will architect, design, and implement software solutions for a range of spectrometers, and contribute to the development of our Tune Calibration Diagnostics platform.

You’ll collaborate with a dynamic, cross-functional team of software developers, architects, scientists, engineers, and product marketing professionals to deliver innovative software applications and services that support analytical instruments used by global customers in life sciences and applied markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in software development, including multiple years dedicated to designing and implementing software solutions for instrument control.
• Proficiency in C, C#, and .NET within the Microsoft development ecosystem.
• Proficiency with object-oriented programming and design patterns in C#.
• Experience with projects involving real-time systems, multi-threading, and user experience considerations.
• Experience with WPF and MVVM design is advantageous.
• Experience with software localization, regulated/audited environments, chromatographic data systems is considered an asset.
• Background in mass spectrometry, data acquisition, data analysis, medical or instrumentation products is beneficial.
• Experience with Python and machine learning is a plus.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, algorithm design, data structures, modularity, and maintainability.

• Responsible for managing and providing oversight for Enterprise laboratory-wide service programs at assigned customer sites. 

• Collaborates with the Agilent Enterprise Sales team to develop sales opportunities, design Enterprise-level support programs to meet the needs of external customers and ensure the implementation and ongoing success of these programs.

• Responsible for managing the delivery of large integrated support services solutions to external customers and supporting major laboratory-wide services programs, often involving cross-functional and multi-vendor efforts.

• Determines the overall program/project plan, budget, structure, schedule, and staffing requirements for custom Enterprise-level support programs.

Major duties of this role include:

• Assists external customer in the definition and implementation of complex integrated solutions requiring relevant products and services.

• Builds and maintains client relationships.

• Is accountable for a thorough risk assessment of the overall program/project.
