Purpose of Position
The Warehouse Foreman will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store and warehouse operations in Canning Vale, Western Australia which includes all matters relating to receiving, warehousing and distribution services resulting the efficient and accurate receipt, storage and despatch of all stock items. The Warehouse Foreman will also be required to maintain and improve housekeeping standards and the storage of parts in a safe manner, as well as compliance with corporate guidelines and procedures.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all activities carried out in the warehouse are compliant with Health, Safety, Environmental and standard warehouse procedures, and review and report cases of non-compliance whenever necessary to promote a safe working environment for all staff.
- Ensure that all incoming purchases are checked and accurately labelled prior to proper placement in the correct storage bins in the warehouse.
- Pick, Pack and coordinate the timely dispatch and issuance of accurate outgoing stock items/ goods for collection and delivery to customers to ensure it meets customer's expectations and standards.
- React accordingly to urgent requests and have a can-do attitude and approach to tasks.
- Manage the issuing and returning of workshop tools, rigging gear and other equipment as required.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks/trailers as required.
- Actively engage with internal customers [planners, sales and supervisors] and proactively identify areas of improvement.
- Pick up and deliver parts to job sites as and when required.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes and the Company’s specialised warehousing equipment to perform the above tasks.
- Operate a range of tools for uncarting or to manufacture crates/pallets/skids for the despatch of products/ parts.
- Manage stock movement according to Company procedures and conduct monthly snapshot stock takes on high turnover items and flag any variations to the Branch Manager.
- Perform daily cycle counts to ensure reconciliation with SAP records to ensure stock accuracy and data integrity.
- Continually improve the physical condition of warehouse by ensuring proper 5S housekeeping at all times. This includes regular inspection of equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacements when required and general cleanliness of the stores and improving storage of goods.
- Maintain responsibility for ensuring that only store and authorised personnel access the store.
- Maintain awareness of, and compliance with current responsibilities and requirements of the relevant WHS Acts, Regulations and applicable Health and Safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
- Report all hazards, incidents, and injuries in accordance with legislation and company reporting procedures.
- Other duties as identified by the Service Manager/ WA Branch Manager.
