THE ROLE:

We are the New Product Introduction (NPI) test engineering team defining and providing test solutions for AMD’s High Performance Compute products in a fast-paced environment under the Product Engineering Organization.

As a Senior Manager in SLT Product Development Engineering, you will be responsible for growth and develop high performance SLT team to drive SLT solutions to address upcoming technology development, NPI business milestones and KPI (test time, yield, cost, quality). THE PERSON:

We are looking for someone with strong technical, analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as demonstrating the characteristics of an independent and resourceful individual.

The applicant must have a proficient understanding of x86 CPU and GPU architecture and functionality, as well as a broad understanding of various industry standard bus protocols, such as DDR, PCIe, and USB.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accountable to drive and develop SLT solutions to meet business milestones, cost and quality in system level scope.
• Solves complex, novel, and non-recurring problems; initiate significant changes to existing processes/methods and leads development and implementation
• Conduct engineering evaluations and analysis to drive closure of production issues
• Develop and architect SLT logging or data collection flow in manufacturing
• Influences technical decisions that have a significant impact on final product
• Involves collaboration on or assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for a specific project or for product development initiatives
• May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers
• Upscale overall team capabilities on low level system debug for AMD data center product families

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge or working experience on GPU architecture, X86 architecture, SoC design and power management features
• Experience with SOC (System-On-Chip), Firmware and Software interaction
• Software programming and scripting proficiency (Java, Shell script, Perl, Ruby, Python)
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience with HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) and/or HSIO (High Speed Input Output) and/or Co-Packaged Optics is a strong plus
• Experience with HVM (High Volume Manufacturing) is a strong plus
• Strong and effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor/Master in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable disciplines

Job Description

The OSAT Account Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end operational management of OSAT partners for assembly and test activities.
The role ensures stable execution, delivery reliability, quality performance, and capacity availability across all assigned AESS semiconductor programs.

The OSAT Account Manager acts as the single operational interface to OSATs, while commercial negotiations and contracting are led by Purchasing.

This position owns purchase order execution, supplier performance steering, and cross‑functional alignment to secure smooth backend operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. OSAT Operational Account Ownership

• Own the day‑to‑day operational relationship with assigned OSAT partners.
• Act as the primary interface for execution, delivery, capacity, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate OSAT activities across multiple programs, packages, and sites.
• Lead regular operational reviews focusing on delivery, yield, quality, and risks.

2. Purchase Order & Demand Execution

• Create, manage, and release purchase orders (POs) in alignment with demand forecasts and program needs.
• Ensure PO correctness regarding volumes, dates, sites, and part numbers.
• Monitor PO fulfillment, backlog, and shipment status.
• Coordinate changes to POs (schedule, volume, site) in alignment with Program Management and Supply Chain.

3. Delivery, Capacity & Ramp‑Up Management

• Ensure on‑time delivery and sufficient OSAT capacity for prototypes, ramps, and volume production.
• Coordinate capacity planning, ramp‑ups, and peak volume scenarios.
• Identify potential capacity bottlenecks early and initiate mitigation actions.
• Support site transfers, dual sourcing, and contingency plans where required.

4. Supplier Performance & KPI Steering

• Monitor and steer OSAT operational KPIs, e.g.:

- On‑time delivery (OTD)
- Yield and scrap
- Cycle time and turnaround time
- Test stability and fallout trends

• Drive corrective actions together with OSAT operations and engineering teams.

• Escalate performance issues internally and externally in a structured manner.

5. Quality & Change Interface

• Work closely with Supplier Quality Management (SQM) on audits, qualifications, deviations, and 8D activities.
• Ensure proper execution of change management (process, material, site changes).
• Support automotive and industrial compliance requirements
  (e.g. IATF 16949, AEC‑Q, customer‑specific standards).

6. Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Interface closely with Program Managers (PM), Technical Project Managers (TPM), Operations, Logistics, and Quality.
• Support package and test decisions from an execution, risk, and capacity perspective.
• Ensure alignment between customer demand, internal planning, and OSAT execution.

7. Interface to Purchasing

• Act as the operational counterpart to Purchasing for OSAT topics.
• Provide input for price discussions, cost transparency, and supplier assessments (without leading negotiations).
• Support implementation of negotiated agreements into operational execution and PO processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration, or comparable.
• 5+ years experience in semiconductor backend operations, OSAT management, or supplier operations.
• Solid understanding of assembly & test processes, automotive/industrial requirements, and production flows.
• Experience with PO management and operational supplier control.
• Experience in a fabless semiconductor or automotive environment is a strong advantage.
