Job Description

As a Senior / Staff Nurse on secondment to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), you will play a vital role in emergency medical dispatch operations at the SCDF Operations Centre. Your responsibilities include providing timely and appropriate life-saving advice during emergency calls, such as telephone-assisted CPR, as well as preparing and conducting medical awareness training for non-medical dispatchers. You will support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts through the auditing of call audiotapes and the collection of call data, contribute to the review and enhancement of medical dispatch protocols, and participate in research initiatives related to emergency medical dispatch. You will also provide secondary operational support in handling emergency calls under a 12-hour rotating shift system.

The Medical Social Worker is to conduct mental health assessment, provide home based direct intervention, support to clients and/or caregivers with mental health issues, and/or dementia in accordance to the Community Intervention Team (COMIT) programme requirement. For instance: psychoeducation, case management and counselling, as well as caregiver support and training.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Conduct assessment and provide intervention and support to clients with mental health issues and/or dementia, eg. psychoeducation, case management and counselling, as well as caregiver support and training.

- Plan, implement and review services and activities to meet the needs of the clients and/or caregivers.
