We are growing our Electrical presence in our Building Engineering team, based in Perth. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineering with strong electrical design experience in a variety of buildings. 

How you’ll make a difference:

• Be influential in the preparation of technical electrical design documentation on building services projects across a variety of industries and market sectors, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective project delivery.
• Work closely with a team of experienced, multidisciplinary engineers on major projects, contributing to project planning, design delivery, and mentoring junior engineers within the business.
• Contribute to projects across the broader team by providing specialised technical advice, applying your knowledge and experience of Australian Standards and reviewing design calculations, specifications and drawings.
• Lead electrical components of major projects across sectors including health, aviation, defence, education, commercial and transport, delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across our expansive multi-disciplinary engineering team to provide high-level technical advice on community-defining projects, with exposure to client-facing roles supported by a Principal Engineer.

This role will sit within our established Ports & Maritime team, with a focus on project and design management across a growing portfolio of work in NSW.

You’ll play a key role in both delivery and client engagement, contributing to strong project outcomes while helping to build capability locally.

How you’ll make a difference

• Lead the design management and delivery of ports and maritime infrastructure projects, including port expansions, marine structures and coastal developments
• Manage project outcomes end-to-end, including scope, programme, commercial performance and technical delivery
• Act as a key client interface, building and maintaining trusted relationships with port authorities, government and private sector clients
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Newcastle, ANZ and our global network to deliver complex infrastructure projects
• Provide leadership across design and delivery teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with industry standards
• Contribute to the continued growth of our Ports & Maritime capability in Newcastle and across NSW

You’ll work in our Newcastle‑based Environmental Health and Safety team delivering hands‑on occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, Work Health and Safety, and environmental compliance services for clients across NSW and Australia. The role involves field inspections, monitoring and sampling, hazardous materials assessments, audits, and technical reporting.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects nationally as part of the Environmental Team, delivering services in occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, work health and safety (WHS), and environmental compliance (auditing). 

How you’ll make a difference

• Providing occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, and WHS advice. 
• Working directly with clients to build, maintain, and strengthen trusted professional relationships. 
• Supporting projects with practical guidance on WHS legislation and best practice. 
• Delivering occupational hygiene, WHS and environmental services in the field, including field sampling, hazardous building material inspections (including asbestos and lead), indoor and outdoor air quality assessments, asbestos clearance inspections and air monitoring and microbiological inspections 
• Conducting audits and inspections to assess compliance with safety and environmental management requirements. 
• Undertaking fieldwork across NSW and throughout Australia, including travel to regional and remote locations. 
• Preparing high-quality technical reports, clearance certificates, and management plans. 

The Role

As a result of a significant project pipeline, AECOM’s Mining and Industrial team has an upcoming opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with strong leadership and technical experience to join the talented team based in Perth. 

Working as part of a dynamic, consulting environment, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of large multidisciplinary projects within the Mining , Refining, and Industrial sectors.

Our team of industry experts and network of technical specialists will support the development of your technical and project management capabilities, giving you the opportunity to work across all project phases from studies through to detailed engineering and execution. What will a day in this role look like:

• Collaborate with industry leaders and technical specialists whilst working as part of a dynamic and consultative team on major mining projects both across Australia and internationally
• Utilising your relevant experience, assist with the development of our upcoming engineers and graduates by advising and mentoring the next generation of engineering consultants
• Be heavily involved in the management and leadership of a multi-disciplinary engineering team with various projects and packages of work
• Manage, plan and deliver a range of projects for Industrial clients varying in size and scope
• Assume the role of Superintendent Representative across projects, managing the contractual obligations on behalf of our clients
• Meet with clients, contractors and industry stakeholders to facilitate technical discussions, promote AECOM’s client-centric culture and ensure our client’s project expectations are satisfied
• Prepare and execute Project Plans during Opportunity and Contracted Phases including; scope & approach, engineering, deliverables management, resources, procurement, budget, scheduling, change management, reporting and project closeout.

• Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports and contribute to approvals documentation
