Our client is a leading provider of maritime technology and digital solutions. As part of its continued growth strategy, the company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business acquisition and expand relationships within the chartering and commodity trading sectors. This is a strategic, customer-facing role focused on developing commercial opportunities with charterers, commodity traders, energy companies, and other key stakeholders across the maritime ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Growth Strategy

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the chartering, commodity trading, and energy sectors.
• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
• Build robust commercial business cases and go-to-market strategies to support growth initiatives.
• Leverage CRM systems, market intelligence, and data analytics to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and achieve short- and medium-term commercial objectives.

Sales & Customer Acquisition:

• Drive new customer acquisition through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
• Understand customer challenges and position solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
• Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are progressed effectively through the sales cycle.
• Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and solution demonstrations with senior stakeholders.
• Ensure seamless customer onboarding and transition to internal account management and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
• Experienced in business development, enterprise sales, or commercial roles.
• Strong network and established relationships within the chartering, commodity trading, dry bulk, agribulk, or energy sectors.
• Experience working with charterers, commodity traders, shipowners, or maritime service providers is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in maritime technology, SaaS, digital solutions, risk management, or maritime services will be advantageous.
• Demonstrated success in generating new business, achieving revenue targets, and managing complex sales cycles.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and translate insights into business opportunities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers across global organisations.

Mid Market Business Development Manager (Ports & Terminals)

A leading maritime safety and sustainability solutions provider is seeking a Business Development to drive growth across the Oceania region. This is a highly commercial new business “hunter” role (≈95% focused on new logo acquisition), centred on expanding market share and delivering improved safety, environmental, and social outcomes through innovative solutions.

Working closely with the Head of APAC, you will lead new business initiatives and aggressively identify, engage, and convert new customers across the maritime ecosystem—including Port Call Optimization and Operations Platform, Maritime Data Analytics & Market Intelligence, Voyage, Fuel & Commercial Optimization Tools and Maritime Platform, Infra & Workflow systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, to ensure a compelling and competitive value proposition, while driving commercial engagements and long-term strategic partnerships.
