We are looking for an Engineer, Software Development to join our team in Malaysia. The candidate will support backend development for both existing payment platforms and new payment solutions.

The ideal candidate should have good backend development skills, basic understanding or interest in the payment / fintech / financial domain, good English communication, and willingness to learn and use AI tools to improve software development efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Development of reliable and critical services of the payment platform.
• Design and develop new features and enhancements on the payment sub-systems such as transaction processing, merchant services, refund, settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and partner integration.
• Analyse impacts and build APIs, backend services, batch jobs, and system integration components to be compatible on both legacy and new payment platforms
• Collaborate with cross function teams such as Product, DevOps, Business, and support teams to ensure the Business requirements are fulfilled.
• Analyse system impact and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, and system improvement.
• Apply AI Coding tools (Claude, Codex, Kiro) to increase development efficiency and code quality 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.

• At least 1–3 years of software development experience, preferably in backend development and familiarity with basic SDLC including Agile development
• Solid programming ability in at least one backend technologies such as Java, C# .NET, Python, or similar, building REST APIs, system integration, and backend service development.
• Foundational knowledge with both TSQL databases (SQL Server, MySQL) and No-SQL databases and distributed systems
• Hand-on experience on some of the AI Coding development tools (Claude, Codex, Kiro) 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to break down complex problems, understand requirements, identify root causes to deliver reliable backend solutions and willingness to apply new technologies (leveraging AI) to enhance productivity. 
• Good communication skills and teamwork.

Work location: The Vertical Business Suite, Bangsar South., Malaysia

Working time: Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, work at the office 100%

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable mobile applications for both smartphones and tablets, ensuring a seamless user experience across devices.
• Build high-performance, reliable, and scalable applications by applying best practices in mobile architecture, state management, networking, caching, and offline support.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features that align with business objectives.
• Integrate analytics and monitoring solutions to measure user behaviour, application performance, and key business metrics.
• Own the end-to-end application release process, including build, testing, deployment, and publication to app stores.
• Ensure software quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering standards.

• 3–5 years of experience in mobile or full-stack application development
• Strong proficiency in Flutter and Dart
• Hands-on experience with Firebase services such as:
• Authentication
• Firestore / Realtime Database
• Cloud Functions
• Firebase Messaging
• Analytics / Crashlytics
• Experience integrating AI tools into applications
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and clean architecture
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Experience publishing and maintaining applications on:
• Apple App Store
• Google Play Store
• Strong awareness of:
• Mobile application security
• Data privacy
• Secure authentication
• Strong focus on user experience (UX) and user-friendly design principles
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows
