Your responsibilities as Assistant Manager, Human Resources will include but not limited to:

Payroll Administration

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing and administration.
• Perform checks for multi-payroll runs, to ensure proper compliance and accuracy in payroll processing.
• Conduct reconciliation of salary, wages and bonuses information to ensure the accuracy of monthly payroll payment.
• Stay updated on relevant legislation, regulations, and trends related to compensation and benefits, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records in HR systems.

Benefits Management & Administration

• Manage employee benefits programs including insurance, welfare claims, and other welfare initiatives.
• Liaise with service providers for renewals, claims, and policy updates.

Compensation Management

• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of salary structures, grading systems, and compensation frameworks.

About the Role

Responsible to lead and deliver the overall HR services, particularly in Payroll & Benefits services across the APAC countries under the Regional Shared Services Centre, focus on the internal client which includes managing critical service issues to resolution, liaising with countries HR Business Partners to ensure services meet required standards (inclusive of third party suppliers) and the ability to align to the business strategy in different countries within the SGS APAC region and imperatives to ensure the service delivery is in line with the requirements and expectations under the Service Level Agreement (SLAs).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Payroll & Benefits functions / areas in the HR Shared Service Centre to ensure quality and efficiency of the services in line with the Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and fully comply to the related standard & legislation.
• Accountable for the timely delivery of the Payroll & Benefits services and processes, including Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Welfare, HRIS, as well as day-to-day liaison with different stakeholders in APAC countries.
• Establish and standardize work procedures and best practice across different countries to improve the efficiency of the shared service team.
• Ensure the necessary interface and infrastructures are in place to facilitate the services offer to the countries.
• Continuous strike for “zero error” target in achieving the “Centre of Excellence” in HR deliveries.
• Ensure the governance of the service operations, including managing the budget, schedule expenditures and cost effective measurements of the shared services.
• Carry out necessary standard and process audit to ensure the compliance and alignment of the HR practices across different countries legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

▪Develop and Guide through performance management frameworks (for all target groups: new hires, interns, contractual hires, low performers) including TM flow, including goal-setting processes, evaluation methods, and feedback mechanisms, ensuring alignment with tires

▪ Coordinate and oversee the TM Flow, including setting objectives, conducting reviews & check-ins, and facilitating calibration sessions to ensure consistency and fairness

▪Identify development needs through performance data analysis and collaborate with managers to implement training programs, mentorship, and performance improvement plans (PIPs) for underperforming employees

▪Collect and analyze performance data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement. Prepare comprehensive reports to inform strategic decision-making

▪ Work closely with HR Business Partners, department heads, and team leaders to ensure that performance management processes are effectively communicated and integrated across the organization

▪Continuously review and enhance performance management processes, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and staying informed about best practices to ensure effectiveness and efficiency

• Leadership & Manager Development: Design manager essentials (coaching, feedback, performance, engagement), leadership curricula, and practical toolkits; enable leaders to execute consistently. 

• Talent Development & Mobility: Support succession planning, HiPo identification, career frameworks, and internal mobility; build critical capability pathways for priority roles. 

• Learning Strategy & Delivery: Build annual learning plan and academies; curate blended learning (digital + cohort + on-the-job); ensure transfer to performance through reinforcement. 

• Engagement & Employee Listening: Run listening strategy (surveys/pulses/focus groups), convert insights into action plans, and close the loop 

• Measurement & ROI: Track impact and provide executive-ready insights; continuously improve programs based on data and feedback. 

• Stakeholder Partnership: Work with HRBPs, business leaders, and COEs to tailor interventions; manage vendors and learning partners as needed.
