The Manager, Facility / Health & Safety (H&S) is responsible for ensuring the smooth running, reliability, and compliance of all facility operations, while maintaining a safe, secure, and hazard-free working environment. The role oversees facility maintenance, workplace safety programs, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to support operational efficiency and employee well-being.
Role:
• Oversee and manage all facility operations including building maintenance, equipment servicing, utilities, and infrastructure reliability to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Develop and implement facility management strategies to optimize space planning, preventive maintenance, and cost-effective resource utilization.
• Lead the Health & Safety function by establishing, reviewing, and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices across the site.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant workplace safety and health regulations, standards, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard evaluations; implement corrective and preventive actions promptly.
• Manage emergency response planning, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, crisis management, and incident reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure operational readiness, safety awareness, and proper use of facilities and equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility reliability, environmental sustainability, and workplace safety performance.
• Oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure compliance with company standards and contractual obligations.
• Prepare and monitor facility and safety budgets, ensuring cost-effective management of repairs, upgrades, and safety programs.
• Track, analyze, and report key facility and safety performance metrics to support informed decision-making and operational improvements.
• Provide leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to staff on facility operations, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead workplace safety committees and ensure timely follow-up on audit findings, incident investigations, and improvement action plans.
• Manage and optimize critical manufacturing utilities, including high-tonnage central chilling systems, cooling towers, and high-volume compressed air systems to ensure zero production downtime.
• Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and environmental compliance of ISO-certified cleanroom facilities, ensuring strict control over HVAC, AHU, HEPA filtration, differential pressure, and humidity levels.
• Coordinate with the Production and Maintenance teams during machine layout changes, power drops, and utility hookups for new injection molding or automated assembly equipment.
EDUCATION / ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
• Diploma or Degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 5–7 years of experience in facility management and/or workplace health & safety roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of facility operations, maintenance planning, and workplace safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop preventive maintenance programs and safety management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for operational and safety improvements.
• Experience in managing contractors, facility projects, and safety initiatives.
• Results-oriented, with strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
• Good communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proven experience managing facilities within a plastics injection molding or medical device manufacturing plant is highly preferred.
• Strong technical, hands-on knowledge of industrial HVAC/AHU systems, cleanroom protocols (ISO 7 / ISO 8), central water chillers, and air compressors.
