Role Description:

• Responsible for providing engineering design support and solutions for crane systems and industrial lifting equipment within the assigned region. Ensures that designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, customer requirements, and company guidelines. Supports continuous product improvement and localization efforts.

Key Tasks :

• Design & Development: Create and modify crane and lifting equipment designs using CAD software, 3D software and adhering to engineering standards including global and regional requirements.
• Technical Support: Provide engineering support to regional sales, service, and project teams, resolving technical challenges during planning, installation, fabrication and operation.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality requirements and Konecranes standard practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with global and regional engineering teams, manufacturing, project and suppliers to ensure design safety, manufacturability and cost-effective solutions.
• Documentation: Prepare calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and reports for designs, ensuring accurate documentation for internal and customer use.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify design improvements, product optimizations, and efficiency enhancements, contributing to innovation initiatives.
• Project Support: Assist in engineering feasibility studies, quotations, and project planning for regional projects.

Role Description:

• Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects related to industrial equipment installations, focusing on overhead cranes and hoists. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and collaboration with customers, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and according to Konecranes’ quality standards.

Key Tasks :

• Plan, monitor, and manage crane and hoist installation, modernization, and service projects from initiation to completion.
• Prepare project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, ensuring adherence to contract terms.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to secure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Provide technical support in crane and hoist installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and Konecranes quality requirements.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during project execution.
• Conduct site visits, risk assessments, and progress meetings to maintain clear communication and trust with stakeholders.

About the Role 

You will achieve personal sales targets by selling assigned product range using technical, and customer knowledge to serve and assist customers by applying product solutions to their needs resulting in revenue generation 

Main Responsibilities 

1. Promotes and sells the organization’s products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range, or list of customer accounts to achieve sales targets. Utilizes current Siebel CRM systems in the sales process efficiently, and reports on leads and sales activities regularly.
2. Pursues sales leads, visits existing and new customers, assesses customer needs and suggests appropriate products and services, respond to customer enquiries, negotiates prices and delivery times and concludes sales orders.
3. Identifies, research, and contacts prospective customers and builds positive relationships generating future sales and repeat business. Refers sales leads, customer’s feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization. Identifies leads for other business units, promotes cross-selling activities and culture in the organization. 
4. Establishes annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and priorities and schedules own activities ensuring targets are met. Develops sales plans with key clients.

The Principal Design Engineer, Port Solutions Electrics, will be responsible for creating high‑quality electrical designs and documentation for port cranes or industrial cranes. The role involves interpreting project specifications, preparing detailed engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with international standards, and coordinating with project teams to deliver accurate and timely outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Study and interpret project specifications, technical requirements, and engineering inputs.
• Prepare panel layouts, single line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, Bill of Materials (BOM), and cable lists as per project requirements.
• Plan and manage personal work activities to meet project timelines with high-quality deliverables.
• Improve and maintain the quality of drawings as per customer and company standards.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination within the team.
• Adhere to company policies, processes, and engineering guidelines.
• Travel to international customer sites as required (valid passport mandatory).
• Follow and maintain awareness of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering from a reputed university.

Experience

• Minimum 4–6 years of electrical design experience in port cranes or industrial cranes.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals:
  • Power distribution
  • Motor control (AC/DC drives)
  • Control and protection circuits
• Expertise in Zuken E3 and Teamcenter / SAP.
• Proficiency in creating electrical drawings including panel layouts, SLDs, schematics, BOMs, and cable lists.
• Experience in cable selection, LV switchgear selection, and understanding of motor control and protection circuits.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD (preferred).
• Familiarity with standards: IEC / UL / EN / CSA applicable to crane systems.
• Experience in port cranes or industrial cranes is an added advantage.

Position Overview

This position requires excellent understanding of wire rope hoists and its components. The hired Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical and structural design/engineering aspects of customized design solutions involving wire rope hoists; check technical specifications from order documents and make detailed order engineering drawings. Must be familiar with industry specifications including crane standards FEM & EN. Experience with welding and machining is required. Must be proficient with  CAD tools and Microsoft Office. Excellent Verbal and written communication plays a key role in this position. This position requires the direct interface between offer engineers, project management and production facility.

Major Responsibilities

• Interpret order documentation including order confirmation to determine scope of work
• Make production drawings for standard duty crane components as per the order received and within the specified time duration.
• Must be proficient in reading mechanical equipment and structural drawings.
• Perform engineering tasks using established procedures. Create equipment layouts, undertake all necessary mechanical and structural calculations to confirm designs and generate final mechanical and structural designs.
• Assure quality assurance in drawing & design process by monitoring the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and implementing the corrective actions.

Job Description: Design Engineer (Ex-Proof Order Engineering)

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-driven Design Engineer to join our Mechanical Component Order engineering team in Pune. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-precision production drawings and 3D models for our customised solutions involving Explosion-proof (Ex-proof) Rope Hoists, Chain Hoists, and crane components.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of Hoisting solutions and a "first-time-right" approach to design. Since these products operate in hazardous environments, your work will be critical to ensuring both operational efficiency and human safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & CAD Modelling: Develop 3D CAD models and detailed 2D production drawings for customised wire rope hoists, chain hoists, and crane components using Siemens NX.
• Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical specifications for manufacturing in the production drawings.
• Data Management: Maintain design integrity, revisions, and workflows within the Teamcenter PLM environment.
• Work Management : Utilize SAP for daily Work Management and project tracking. Execute assigned tasks according to the Task Allocation schedule within the SAP
• Ex-proof Integration: Incorporate explosion-proof design principles (flameproof enclosures, non-sparking materials) into modularised hoist architectures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Order Management and Product Platform teams to resolve bottlenecks and ensure designs are optimized for fabrication.
