Position Overview

Third Bridge's Forum division delivers investment research to its global institutional investor client base, including managers investing across public equities, fixed income, private equity, real assets, and other alternatives. 

The Sector Analyst team within Forum is responsible for uncovering actionable insight through in-depth conversations with senior executives and industry specialists, driving sector and regional coverage strategy, and engaging with clients to showcase the value of our research.

We are looking for a motivated analyst to join our team in Tokyo. On a daily basis you will be engaging industry thought leaders to drive insights on Japanese industries and businesses directly to our clients.

In this role you will be expected to:

• Conduct research on industries, public and private businesses in Japan for a range of tier-1 asset management clients; 

• Generate actionable investment ideas, perform initial due diligence and prepare detailed questions lists, and then go deeper into the subject matter by hosting interviews on those topics with industry experts and executives;

• Drive discussions with industry specialists, extracting value-added and actionable insight throughout your discussions;

• Manage internal and external stakeholders; educate and pitch upcoming work to sales teams; interact and build relationships with clients;

• Build out your network with industry specialists across your areas of coverage; do deep-dives on industries/companies, figure out where specialists have non-consensus views, and build out a pipeline of content.

Join our Tokyo team to proactively expand our Japanese expert network. This role is critical to strengthening our competitive position in the Japanese market, particularly as our business focuses on supporting sophisticated clients who require deep, localized market expertise.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute proactive recruitment strategies to expand the Japanese expert network.

• Conduct offline sourcing activities, including attending industry exhibitions and networking events.

• Organize and host expert events to generate referrals and strengthen relationships within the network.

• Spearhead content creation initiatives by utilizing AI interviews, working cross-functionally with the Library team to enrich our content base.

• Utilize research tools beyond LinkedIn to identify and engage potential experts.

• Conduct deep-dive research to identify and recruit highly specialized industry experts.

• Achieve individual performance targets based on the number of experts recruited.

• Work collaboratively with the team while operating independently from specific client projects.

Based at our Tokyo office, the Workplace Support Coordinator is an essential member of the Workplace Management team. In this part time role, the standard hours of operation will be 9am - 3pm each day. We are looking for someone who can assist with the running of a fast-paced office. Someone who will relish the daily challenges of the department, who can follow and maintain processes and procedures in order to keep the office running smoothly, and who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Reporting to the Regional Workplace Support Manager, the main responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring service level agreements with 3rd third-party custodial vendor are met 

• Communications with external suppliers, partners, and internal teams

• Working closely with the Workplace Management team to ensure high standards across the office

• Answering the main reception phone and directing calls

• Meeting and greeting guests

• Being the first point of contact for the building porter, etc.

• Taking receipt of and distributing post and deliveries, coordinating outgoing mail

• Maintaining stock levels of food and stationery, ordering/taking receipt of deliveries/allocating stock to kitchen/store cupboard

• Setting up and assisting with in office social events

• Liaising with maintenance people and other vendors when they are scheduled to complete works in the office

• Coordinating desks and IT equipment for onboarding/offboarding employees

• Provide remote support for Seoul office

• Other office administrative tasks as needed
