Our structured apprenticeship integrates your formal study, accredited qualifications, internship experience, and on‑the‑job training in a program designed to develop you into a Field Service Engineer/Technician and beyond.
What You Will Do
As a Rotork Apprentice, you’ll combine academic learning with real engineering work, gaining skills across our products, equipment, and service operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Complete all health and safety training and documentation requirements.
- Participate in learning opportunities in the workshop, field and manufacturing facilities.
- Adhere to the apprenticeship programme and follow the rotation plan.
- Produce the relevant documentary evidence of learning in the workplace.
- Complete all required assessments.
- Build good working relationships with other colleagues.
- Regularly report to line management and training provider regarding work and learning progress
Key role responsibilities and learning outcomes
- Responsible for the health and safety of yourself and the workplace.
- Produce / review risk assessments and method statements in line with requirements.
- Receive all manufacturers’ actuators and gearboxes, clean, strip and determine their condition. Create a report listing the labour and materials necessary to carry out the repair or overhaul. Prepare a quotation based on these results.
- Carry out the repair/overhaul and test the unit on the workshop test rig prior to creating and issuing a new test certificate.
- Carry out factory fitting of valves/actuators.
- Learn how to assemble electrohydraulic, electro-mechanical, electric actuators and gearboxes.
- Any other duty reasonably associated with this role when required.

- Complete overhaul and repairs, then test and certify equipment
- Factory‑fit valves and actuators
- Assemble electrohydraulic, electro‑mechanical and electric actuators
- Work hands-on with industry‑leading Rotork technology
- Contribute to business improvements and continuous innovation
