Accounts Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the finance team in handling day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of basic accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial records and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, follow up on outstanding receivables, and monitor collections.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.
General Accounting
- Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and ledgers.
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules.
Expense & Claims Processing
- Verify and process staff claims in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place for all reimbursements.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Administrative Support
- Support the finance team with general administrative duties.
- Liaise with internal departments and external parties such as vendors and auditors when required.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- LCCI or equivalent accounting certification is an advantage.
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience handling accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in handling full sets of accounts is an advantage.
- Experience in multi-entity or group company environments is preferred.
