We are searching for a hands-on problem solver to work across two centrally located Sydney CBD hotels. Reporting to the General Managers of Hotel Morris Sydney - Handwritten Collection & The Sebel Sydney Martin Place, this role is key in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the Hotels. Duties include preventative, predictive and reactive works whilst building relationships with fellow Heartists & external contractors.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Monitoring and coordinating the overall maintenance workflow across both hotels, ensuring tasks are prioritised appropriately and completed to brand, safety and compliance standards
• Maintaining the building, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings on the Hotels
• Liaising closely with external contractors and service providers, overseeing the quality and timeliness of their work to maintain smooth hotel operations 
• Ensuring the Hotels remain a functionable, pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors & Heartists
• Conducting maintenance requirements and follow ups as scheduled & logged by the Hotels’ systems
• Ensuring all equipment is maintained, used and stored correctly

The Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and hands-on Maintenance Technician to uphold the hotel’s standards and ensure our facilities are maintained to the highest level. This position is responsible for managing the maintenance and engineering function, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests during their stay while protecting and maintaining the hotel’s physical assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out preventative maintenance programs throughout the hotel to maintain operational standards and a positive guest experience.
• Prioritise and complete maintenance requests to ensure the smooth running of all hotel departments.
• Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring work meets manufacturer specifications, legislative requirements, and is completed within budget and on schedule.
• Maintain plant, equipment, and building systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
• Maintain gym equipment in safe working order according to manufacturer specifications.
• Assist hotel management in responding to emergencies, incidents, and maintenance issues.
• Ensure all team members use equipment and chemicals safely in accordance with manufacturer instructions and WHS requirements.
• Monitor guest feedback and take corrective action to improve product and service delivery.
• Prepare monthly maintenance reports, including key performance indicators and actions taken to maintain performance targets.
• Actively participate in the hotel’s Work Health & Safety and Emergency Response team.
