Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the systems engineer will provide engineering design, technical configuration, drawing of various telecommunication systems.

He/ She will possess extensive knowledge and experience in Engineering design of telecommunication, safety & security and marine navigation systems covering technologies such as IP Infrastructure, WIFI WLAN, Firewall security, IP-PABX, PAGA, CCTV, VCS, TETRA/DMR UHF/VHF Radio, GMDSS Radio, GEO/MEO/LEO VSAT, IPTV, Radar, Gyrocompass and etc and provide engineering design, technical configuration, proof of concept as well as drawing instruction of various telecom systems.

Reponsibilites

• Take ownership of engineering design and make a truly access and understanding of client requirement and propose the right solution to fit the specs.
• Produce engineering document (VDRL) and close the client comments in a timely, high quality and accurate manner.
• Produce scratch drawing and guide the AUTOCAD drafter to come out the engineering drawing deliverables.
• Adapt the industrial standard and best practice into the engineering drawing preparation, design, review, and submission.
• Guide the in-house technician for equipment assembly and cabinet integration; implement the system configuration, simulation, testing and verification.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) to client and provide in-house training to client as well as commissioning engineer.
• Any other ad hoc tasks required for business needs.

Requirements

• Minimum diploma in telecom or equivalent technical discipline
• Proven 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the industrial markets.
• Well organized documentation, time management skills
• Ability to articulate and share concepts with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to work with cross function teams and lead the team
• Objective driven, time-sensitive and resourceful
• Certificate of AUTOCAD will be added advantages.
• Site commissioning / radio surveying experience as per SOLAS / MODU will be added advantages.
• Ability to use various coverage tools such as CadnaA for PAGA, Ekahau for WIFI coverage, iBwave for UHF/GSM coverage will be added advantages.

Jason Marine Group Limited is a Maritime-centric Equipment and Service Provider based in Singapore, providing marine electronics and communications equipment/services and integration services for the commercial marine and offshore industries in Singapore, Asia and Europe regions.

We are seeking the Network Support (Marine Communications) to support the pre and post-sales activities related to the Maritime telecommunication solutions provided to the commercial marine and offshore vessels.

Roles and Responsibilities

Pre-sales

· Support the sales teams in determining customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions eg. based on vessel size and data usage requirements to pitch the right satellite solutions.

· Support the design of the communications network onboard vessels to connect to the satellite solutions recommended

· Perform the installation of IT networks (LAN setup, switches and routers settings, firewall settings etc) systems onboard vessels on satellite solutions per industry practices and vendor criteria. This includes the staging of customers’ systems and equipment and configuration settings and commissioning of services.

Post-sales

· Track all inbound and outbound activities including monitoring, maintenance, reporting, and problem resolution.

· Use the fault ticketing system to log and track timely resolution of customer-reported issues.

· Support customer’s change requests for systems settings eg firewall settings, top-ups of pre-paid value etc.

· Update of the technical knowledge database and determine methods to improve resolution turnaround time.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Information Systems, computer engineering, related fields, or any related field.
• Good analytical and interpersonal communications skills.
• Good documentation and report writing skills.
• Able to work independently and with a strong keen to learn mindset.
• Good understanding and implementation skills in IP, Networking and Firewall.
• Knowledge of satellite technology will be an added advantage.

· Able to be on shift rotation. Additional monetary allowance will be compensated for weekend shift.
