Context

The DesCartes Programme, led by CNRS@CREATE in Singapore, brings together AI, engineering and human sciences to design trustworthy hybrid AI systems. In partnership with the National University Health System (NUHS), WP1 (Agent-Based Modelling) and WP6 (Ethics of Autonomy and Care in AI Decision-Making) are jointly developing an agent-based model (ABM) to support the redesign of selected NUH services. Grounding this model in empirically rich descriptions of care practices, patient trajectories and staff routines requires dedicated field-based human sciences work.

Mission

Working at the interface between WP1 and WP6, the Research Assistant will contribute to the design and implementation of human sciences methodology feeding into the ABM.Main tasks:

- Design and conduct field observations.

- Prepare and carry out semi-structured interviews with healthcare staff, patients and caregivers; transcribe and analyse the material (thematic/qualitative analysis).

- Translate qualitative findings into structured inputs for the ABM in close collaboration with the WP1 modelling team.

- Participate in joint WP1-WP6 meetings, internal reports, and co-author scientific outputs.

Profile

- Master's degree (or equivalent) in psychology, sociology, anthropology, public health, human factors, cognitive science or related field.

• Own the core people lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, leadership development, performance, engagement, and reward.
• Ensure talent and performance processes are pragmatic and well-governed, aligned with business priorities.

• Support business transformation, growth, and change initiatives, providing clear judgement on organisational, cultural, and people implications.

• Support the Board Remuneration Committee on executive remuneration, incentives, and people governance matters.

6. Communications & Reputation

• Provide executive oversight of the company's communications function, with the Head of Communications reporting into the role.
• Ensure alignment between internal communications, culture, people agenda, and business strategy, and coherence between internal and external messaging.
• Work closely with Investor Relations and other senior stakeholders on external communications, and provide leadership on corporate social responsibility (CSR) priorities to support BW LPG's reputation and stakeholder engagement.

7. HR Operations & Systems

• Oversee end-to-end HR operations, ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient delivery across the employee lifecycle.
• Drive simplification and automation of HR processes to improve efficiency and employee experience.
• Act as business owner for HR systems and people data, ensuring data integrity and meaningful analytics.

8. External & Group Engagement

• Represent BW LPG within the BW Group HR community of practice contributing insights and leveraging Group capabilities and expertise.
• Maintain awareness of external people and regulatory trends relevant to BW LPG.

• Senior HR leadership experience in complex, international organisations; maritime, industrial, or asset-heavy environments are advantageous.
• Proven track record partnering with CEOs and senior leadership teams in commercially driven settings.
• Strong understanding of Singapore employment law and HR practices.
• Experience leading strategic people agendas and lean, effective HR operations.
• Experience operating in organisations with strong governance, regulatory, and compliance requirements (preferably listed company environment)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertake menu planning

• Oversee and participate in the preparation and cooking and serving of main meals, snacks, cakes, etc. in accordance with specified menus.

• Determine quantities to be cooked and size of portions to be served, taking into account diets to meet medical, ethnic and personal needs.

• Check quantity and quality of stock received and notify suppliers of deficiencies.

• Oversee washing and cleaning of floors, crockery, utensils, work surfaces and other kitchens equipment to ensure that the necessary hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen and dining room as appropriate.

• Ensure that the appropriate clothing, including head wear, is worn at all times in accordance with the health guidelines.

• Co-operate fully with the statutory inspections and implement recommendation as appropriate.

• Supervise other the Kitchen Staff Team on shift and undertake performance appraisal

• To undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification and competences

• Certificate in food production from a recognized institution

• Food handler’s certificate.

• Experience of 3 years working in a kitchen providing meals for large numbers

• Ability to prepare and serve well-presented and attractive meals to individual requirements.

• A positive attitude and commitment to providing nutritious meals and offer a range of choices including to those with specific dietary requirements.

• The ability to form positive relationships with colleagues.

• Knowledge of prevailing regulations on Hygiene.
