Key Responsibilities: 

Residential Fault Resolution 

• Diagnose and resolve fibre, broadband, and Wi-Fi issues at customer premises 

• Identify and fix problems related to ONT, routers, cabling, signal loss, and network performance 

• Perform structured testing to confirm full service recovery before leaving the site 

First-Time-Right Service Delivery 

• Isolate root causes quickly and apply permanent fixes 

• Minimize repeat visits by completing proper validation and testing 

• Ensure service quality meets ViewQwest standards before closing jobs 

Wi-Fi & Home Network Performance 

• Assess Wi-Fi coverage, speed, and stability 

• Identify interference, weak signal areas, and performance risks 

• Recommend practical improvements such as router placement, mesh, or cabling solutions (Professional home consultation) 

Customer Communication & Product Recommendation 

• Explain issues and solutions clearly to customers 

• Set realistic expectations and ensure customers understand the outcome of the visit 

• Maintain a professional, calm, and customer-friendly approach 

• Support sales activities by identifying opportunities to upsell products and value-added services based on customer needs. 

Tools, Evidence & Reporting 

• Use approved diagnostic tools for testing and verification 

• Capture photo evidence, test results, and job notes 

• Update all work records accurately in ViewQwest systems 

Shift & Coverage Support 

• Support weekday, evening, and weekend troubleshooting under a rotational shift model 

• Respond to urgent and priority fault cases when required 

Work Schedule: 

• Morning Shift:  9:00 AM – 6:00 PM 

• Afternoon Shift: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM 

• 7-day rotational coverage including weekends and public holidays 

Requirements: 

• Diploma or higher in Telecommunications, IT, Electronics, Networking, or related field 

• 2–3 years’ experience in residential broadband, fibre, or network troubleshooting preferred 

• Strong hands-on skills in: 

• ONT and router diagnostics 

• Fibre and in-home cabling 

• Wi-Fi troubleshooting 

• Good communication and customer handling skills 

• Able to work independently in the field and as part of a rotating team 

License & Mobility 

• Valid Class 3 or motorcycle driving license 

• Willing to travel island-wide for on-site support

Role Overview 
As an L2 Field Engineer, you will be a key on-site technical expert, troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment and system issues across various sectors. This role involves applying engineering principles to solve problems, generating detailed reports, and collaborating with teams to enhance system efficiency. The position is field-based, with minimal office work, and is ideal for analytical thinkers with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities 

• Installation and Deployment: Independently configure, rack, stack, test, and cable equipment in data centers and customer premises.  

• Circuit Commissioning: Conduct circuit testing (e.g., BERT, RFC2544) and produce detailed reports for customer handovers.  

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose physical layer failures using tools like PON meters, OTDR, BERT, and RFC2544 testers. Replace faulty components (e.g., equipment, SFPs, cables) and assist in advanced troubleshooting by logging into equipment and providing detailed reports to higher-level engineers.  

• Maintenance and Upgrades: Support on-site maintenance tasks, including device setup, patching, dismantling, hardware module replacements, and network migrations.  

• Availability: Be available for 24/7 on-call duties and weekend shifts based on monthly schedules. Commute to site locations as needed.  

• Mentoring: Train and guide L1 Field Engineers as required.  

• Site Maintainability: Ensure proper cable management and routing in data centers, removing terminated circuits as needed.  

• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, engineers, and construction teams to support maintenance and installation projects.  

• Task Accountability: Complete assigned weekly tasks, proactively updating supervisors on progress and status. 

Requirements 

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or Telecommunication Engineering.  

• Ability to lift and mount equipment weighing up to 10kg.  

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in a similar field.  

• Proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.  

• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.  

Responsibilities: 

• Provide Service Management to supervise the network system and continuously monitor alerts  

• Ensure the security of the company’s network and monitor the performance of the business network  

• Coordinate with third-party providers to secure network products and services 

• Attend to tier 2 customer escalations and troubleshoot issues 

• Troubleshoot IP services and networks, ensuring timely resolution of fault tickets to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements on Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Quality of Service (QoS)  

• Influence the enhancement, modification, and adjustment of components in the network infrastructure 

• Manage the integration of new network technologies  

• Maintain all required network updates on the VPN, WLAN, WAN and LAN  

• Provide customer support to business clients via email, telephone and face-to-face interactions, and announce service schedules to network users  

• Document the resolution of incidents and problems  

Requirements: 

• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field  

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field preferred  

• Interest in Internet Technologies, including routing, switching and general network infrastructure, as well as technologies associated with the ISP market  

• Able and willing to work in shifts to support network system on a 24/7 basis  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a flair for addressing technical and operational challenges 

• Prior experience in an ISP environment would be advantageous 

• Possession of professional certifications such as CCNP would be advantageous 

• Able to work shift (8am to 5pm, 11am to 8pm) 

• Able to work after office hours for any emergency situations that needs onsite or remote troubleshooting

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Assist in FTTx network implementation. 

• Troubleshoot IP services, networks & FTTx issues, and ensure that all escalation issues are resolved  

• Engage vendor support and join con-calls to ensure the service restored within limited downtime  

• Responsible for attending escalations from technical support or NOC teams  

• Plan and monitor the subscribers/PON port migration during troubleshooting. 

• Document the resolution of incidents and problems 

• Responsible for field operations and maintenance of FTTx network. 

• Schedule and execute pre-planned operation activities for new OLTs, network optimization, software upgrade and so on.  

• Support senior engineers in implementing network upgrades.

Requirements

• Experience in Network operations/maintenance and passionate about providing troubleshooting support
