RESPONSIBILITIES

• Active participation in:
  • Designing course content, class assignments, and lab exercises.
  • Out-of-class support for technology assignments, projects, labs, and course-related matters.
  • Supporting in-class delivery of lab exercises.
  • Grading of assignments, lab exercises, projects, and exams.
• Conduct enrichment workshops to strengthen students' technical skills.
• Develop online and self-study learning materials.
• Collaborate with faculty to improve the curriculum by incorporating current tools and practices, including AI-assisted development tools where they support the subject.
• Guide students in the effective and responsible use of relevant tools, including AI assistants, in their coursework.
• Partner with industry on application projects.
• Mentor students on internships and application projects.
• Contribute actively to SCIS events and school service activities, including outreach, Open House, and applicant interviews.
• Spearhead a "special project" related to specialisation.
• May take the lead in teaching selected undergraduate or postgraduate sessions.

• Bachelor's degree in a computing discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Information Technology).
• Master's degree in a computing discipline is an added advantage.
• Strong, current software development skills, with proficiency in languages and tools relevant to SCIS courses.
• Experience building real-world applications or systems, ideally including larger projects in a business or production setting.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support students at varying levels.
• Familiarity with common software development tools and workflows.

Description

The Adjunct Lecturer will teach and mentor Year 2 design students in multidisciplinary design practice, with a focus on service design, user experience, design thinking, and creative strategy. They will also guide students in developing innovative, user-centred solutions while strengthening their professional and industry-relevant skills.

The Adjunct Lecturer will be teaching one of the following modules,

Design Studio 2A (Semester 1: August–December, 14 weeks)

 and

Design Studio 2B (Semester 2: January–May, 4 + 2 weeks).

• Design Studio 2A focuses on service design, customer experience, and design thinking in multidisciplinary and cross-cultural contexts. The unit develops creative problem-solving, collaboration, trend analysis, and presentation skills within Southeast Asian industry settings.
• Design Studio 2B focuses on allowing students to build on their service and experience design knowledge by applying human-centred design approaches to create sustainable and market-ready solutions. The unit focuses on research, strategy development, collaboration, and effective communication of design concepts. 

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Undertake contact/teaching hours per week in one of the above-mentioned modules.
2. Deliver and facilitate studio-based teaching, workshops, and project activities.
3. Develop lesson plans, assessments, project briefs, and teaching materials.
4. Supervise and assess student projects, assignments, and presentations.
5. Monitor and maintain records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
6. Provide academic support, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
7. Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement of the modules.
8. Stay current with developments in design education, industry trends, and learning practices.
9. Build and maintain industry partnerships and collaborative networks.
10. Contribute to interdisciplinary projects, collaborations, and research activities.
11. Support teaching across other programmes within the School of Art & Design when required.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Master's in Design or a related discipline, preferably with a PhD. 
• At least 5 years of teaching experience and relevant working experience in the field. 
• Proficiency in effectively delivering classes on a hybrid teaching platform, encompassing synchronous and asynchronous teaching methods.

Description

The Adjunct Lecturer will be teaching the module,

Art & Design fundamentals for 13 teaching weeks from August to November.

This module introduces drawing as a key Fine Art practice, helping students to develop fundamental skills such as line, tone, proportion, perspective, and composition through observational and expressive drawing exercises. Working from still life, figures, objects, and spaces, students will learn to use drawing as a tool for observation, exploration, and creative expression.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Undertake contact/teaching hours per week for the above mentioned module.
2. Plan and deliver engaging drawing lessons that develop technical skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
3. Prepare lesson plans, project briefs, assessment criteria, and teaching materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in Fine Art, Visual Design or related discipline; PhD preferred.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Freelance Primary Mathematics Teacher to join our teaching team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about the Maths subject, experienced in breaking down complex concepts into simple explanations, and capable of guiding students—especially those from international backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver Mathematics lessons for Primary and/or Secondary level students based on the Singapore MOE syllabus / Cambridge IGCSE.

· Prepare and conduct lessons that support students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, problem-solving techniques, and heuristics.

· Provide academic support for students preparing for the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) where applicable.
