**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Electrical System Design**

• Lead the design of LV & MV power distribution systems with full accountability for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Design transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and panel boards in accordance with international standards and project specifications
• Conduct comprehensive electrical load calculations and demand analysis to ensure system adequacy
• Execute short circuit, voltage drop, and protection coordination studies to guarantee system integrity and safety
• Specify and oversee UPS systems, generators, and backup power solutions to ensure operational continuity
• Design earthing and lightning protection systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards

**2. Lighting & Small Power Systems**

• Direct the design of interior and exterior lighting systems, including precise lux level calculations and compliance verification
• Develop emergency lighting systems that meet all regulatory requirements and operational standards
• Establish small power layouts and socket distribution in accordance with project demands and safety protocols
• Implement energy-efficient lighting solutions, including LED and smart control technologies, to optimise operational performance

**3. Technical Documentation**

• Prepare and certify critical technical deliverables, including:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
• Load schedules
• Panel schedules
• Cable sizing calculations
• Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
• Comprehensive technical specifications
• Conduct rigorous review of shop drawings and material submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and standards

**4. Coordination & Project Management**

• Coordinate with Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil, and Architectural teams to ensure integrated design delivery and conflict resolution
• Represent the electrical discipline in client and consultant meetings, providing authoritative technical guidance
• Ensure strict compliance with local and international codes (IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, and local authority regulations)
• Provide technical oversight during construction and conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications

**5. Leadership & Technical Oversight**

• Direct and mentor junior engineers and draftsmen, establishing standards for technical excellence
• Conduct comprehensive review of all design outputs to ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Maintain accountability for project delivery within established timelines and budgetary constraints
• Assume responsibility for the technical integrity and professional standards of all deliverables

Job Role : Design Lead – Solar (Electrical)

Minimum Qualification : B.E. / B. Tech., Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering Experience: Experience : 7–10 years (Must have experience in design aspects of Solar PV Power Plants / Power Distribution Projects)

Objective: As Design Lead (Electrical), the person shall be capable of reviewing & executing Engineering Activities like Generation Estimate, Overall plant Layout, AC/DC SLD, Solar Module selection, Inverter Sizing, SMB, Earthing Layouts, Cable Sizing Calculations of Solar PV Power Plants. He shall facilitate the modellers in development of BIM 3D Model for PV Solar Power plants. In addition, she / he has to coordinate with other departments including Inter-departmental checks covering Civil/ Structural, Instrumentation, MEP and others. The Design Lead (Electrical AC / DC) shall be required to provide support for the engineering activities covering the full cycle of works from pre-bid engineering to support during commissioning and warranty periods and to extend support to site team. She / He shall lead a team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons to manage the Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering.

• Check pre-award evaluation of vendors (w.r.t. technical specifications requirement of the client) and forward the validation document to Supply Chain Management
• Inspect equipment from the finalized vendor after submission of validation document of the vendor
• Clarify issues w.r.t. the design & requirements of the client to the Site Execution Team
• Collect inputs for project details (plot details, feeder arrangements etc.) from client & Project Engineering Manager
• Coordinating with Operations team and informing Design specifications for obtaining approval
• Collect inputs for project details (General Arrangement Drawings) from Vendors Sensitivity: 
• Check deliverables such as Cable Routing Layout, Cable Tray Layout, Earthing Layout & Lightning Protection Layout
• Provide support to Electrical AC, Civil /Structural for reviewing Vendor drawings
• Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking & reviewing of design & drawings of the project Technical
 

Expertise The Design Lead (Electrical) is required to have an overall knowledge of equipment layouts and necessary calculations. The Design Lead (Electrical) should also have detailed knowledge of Solar PV Power Plants. She / he should have the understanding of engineering activities covering Generation Estimate, Overall plant Layout, AC / DC SLD, Solar Module selection, Inverter Sizing, SMB, Earthing Layouts, Cable Sizing Calculations of Solar PV Power Plants. The Design Lead (Electrical) is required to have knowledge on National and International Codes and Standards. The Design Lead (Electrical) is required to understand and interpret the contractual technical requirements and facilitate the Project Teams as and when required. In addition, the Design Lead (Electrical) should also have an overall understanding of the inter-disciplinary (Civil & Structural, Mechanical and Instrumentation) design aspects of electrical equipment.

• Develop concept designs, layouts, and 3D visualizations for airport terminal interiors including lounges, waiting areas, retail spaces, check-in counters, and offices.

• Prepare detailed drawings such as plans, elevations, sections, and working drawings using AutoCAD/Revit.

• Ensure designs comply with airport authority standards, ICAO/IATA guidelines, fire safety norms, and accessibility standards.

• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, structural teams, and stakeholders for integrated design solutions.

• Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and signage systems suitable for high-traffic environments.

• Review shop drawings and provide technical inputs during construction execution.
