The Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS) was established in 2001 to represent and support a diverse membership, including General Waste Collectors, recycling companies, and equipment suppliers. WMRAS aims to raise standards and professionalise the waste management and recycling industry. The association works closely with government and partners to promote sustainable practices and support a greener living environment.

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced and forward-looking Executive Director to lead the strategy and overall management of the association, driving industry growth, member value, and sector-wide impact. Working closely with the Executive Committee, government agencies, and industry stakeholders, you will strengthen partnerships, represent industry interests, and deliver impactful programmes.

• Drive the association’s strategy and position it as a trusted industry voice.
• Partner with EXCO on priorities, industry developments, and performance.
• Represent industry views and facilitate two-way communication between members and government agencies.
• Lead industry initiatives and capability-building efforts.
• Oversee operations, programmes, and events to deliver strong member value.
• Ensure financial sustainability through budgeting, revenue growth, and resource optimisation.
• Uphold governance, compliance, and risk management standards.
• Build partnerships and translate industry challenges into practical actions and solutions.
• Facilitate platforms for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and business development.
• Grow membership and enhance value through programmes, training, and engagement platforms.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, with 6 years in senior leadership or management roles.
• Proven track record in organisational growth, innovation, and team leadership.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage complex operations with attention to detail.
• Experience working with government, industry, and international partners.
• Familiarity with programme management, financial planning, budgeting, and governance.
• Singaporean / SPR candidates preferred.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Associate Director of Marketing & Communications to lead integrated marketing, digital, and public relations efforts to drive brand visibility, revenue growth, and guest engagement.

This role plays a critical part in shaping the hotel’s market positioning, strengthening brand presence, and delivering impactful campaigns across Rooms, F&B, and Events.

What You Will Do

Drive Strategy & Revenue

• Lead and execute integrated B2C and B2B marketing strategies aligned with commercial objectives
• Drive brand awareness, direct bookings, occupancy, and revenue growth
• Partner with Sales, Revenue, and F&B teams to support business priorities

Own Digital & Performance Marketing

• Oversee digital ecosystem (website, social, third-party platforms) to maximise traffic and conversion
• Lead SEM and SEO strategies with clear ROI tracking
• Analyse performance data and optimise campaigns for effectiveness

Lead PR & Brand Positioning

• Develop and execute PR strategies to position the hotel as a market leader
• Build strong media and influencer relationships across key markets
• Manage press releases, media features, and familiarisation trips
• Act as hotel spokesperson when required

Create Impactful Campaigns & Content

• Oversee development of compelling, on-brand content across all channels
• Lead production of marketing collaterals, campaigns, and storytelling initiatives
• Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints

Build Partnerships & Visibility

• Identify and execute strategic partnerships, collaborations, and media trades
• Drive promotions and campaigns to enhance customer acquisition and loyalty
• Lead award submissions to strengthen brand recognition

Lead Team & Manage Performance

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Marketing & Communications team
• Manage external agencies (PR, digital, creative) for quality and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
• 5–7 years’ experience in Marketing Communications / PR, with leadership exposure
• Proven ability to drive revenue, brand growth, and campaign performance
• Strong digital marketing knowledge (SEO, SEM, social, analytics)
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
• Creative, data-driven, and commercially minded

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide full administrative support to the management team
• Handle day-to-day administrative duties and documentation
• Support the Directors in daily operations and project coordination
• Manage calendars, scheduling meetings and sending reminders
• Coordinate closely between office and project site supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and communication
• Follow up on material deliveries, equipment requests and manpower deployment
• Communication effectively with Project site supervisors to ensure clear understanding of project instructions and updates

Job Requirements:

• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Basic understanding of landscape workflow and project site operations is an advantage
• Good communication skills (able to liaise with Indian supervisors and site teams)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of the team
• Strong coordination and time management skills to prioritize tasks under pressure
