RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

• Operate the Combined Cycle Power Plant safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established operational guidelines to meet output requirements.

• Prepare for, execute, and monitor the startup, shutdown, and routine operations of generation units and auxiliary systems.

• Carry out condition monitoring, review operating parameters, and correct deviations to maintain optimal plant performance.

• Identify, report, and rectify all system, plant, and equipment defects.

• Ensure vessels are manned in compliance with Safe Manning requirements, STCW regulations, flag state, OCIMF, and tanker industry standards.
• Liaise with Masters and Chief Engineers to plan and execute preventive and long-term maintenance programs.
• Monitor vessel maintenance schedules, inspections, testing activities, and ensure timely completion of PMS and critical equipment maintenance.
• Review and approve technical requisitions, including spares, stores, and repair requirements for tanker operations and cargo systems.
• Monitor vessel performance, including fuel consumption, cargo operation efficiency, machinery reliability, and off-hire prevention.
• Review analysis reports for fuel oil, lube oil, cargo equipment, and machinery, ensuring prompt corrective actions are taken.
• Prepare and monitor vessel operating budgets and expenses, recommending cost-control measures where required.
• Ensure timely submission and review of technical, operational, and tanker-related reports.
• Prepare quarterly reports covering vessel condition, certification status, crew matters, dry docking progress, budget performance, and class status.
• Prepare dry-docking specifications, evaluate shipyard quotations, and coordinate docking projects for tanker vessels.
• Conduct vessel visits, inspections, and audits in line with company procedures and tanker industry requirements.
• Support SIRE/CDI vetting inspections, PSC inspections, internal audits, and oil major compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, and tanker safety standards.
• Review charter party requirements related to tanker operations, cargo handling, voyage instructions, and performance warranties.
• Handle technical incidents, cargo claims, insurance matters, sea protests, and emergency response activities when required.
• Coordinate pre-arrival requirements, ballast water reporting, cargo readiness, and port documentation with vessels and authorities.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the Fleet Manager.
• Approve spares, stores, repairs, and emergency purchases for assigned vessels within authorised limits.
• Recommend crew promotion, transfer, and repatriation matters.
• Review and approve repair and dry-docking invoices upon management approval.
• Conduct performance appraisals for senior ship staff and provide recommendations to the Fleet Manager.
• Undertake additional responsibilities delegated by management.

Qualifications

• Possess Chief Engineer Class 1 / Motor Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• Minimum 2 years of sailing experience on tanker vessels, preferably Oil, Chemical, LNG, or LPG tankers
• Prior experience as a Technical Superintendent or in tanker vessel management is advantageous
• Strong technical knowledge of tanker operations, dry docking, planned maintenance systems (PMS), and vessel maintenance
• Familiar with SIRE/CDI inspections, OCIMF standards, and tanker vetting requirements
• Good understanding of ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, and SOLAS regulations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and budget management capabilities
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with vessel crew, shipowners, managers, and external parties
• Proficient in PMS and ship management software systems
• Willing to travel for vessel inspections, audits, and dry-docking assignments when required
