About the Role
We are looking for an Interface Coordinator to support the coordination and management of technical, design, construction, and system interfaces for railway and infrastructure projects in Singapore.
This role is suitable for candidates with relevant experience in engineering coordination, interface management, project documentation, or multidisciplinary project environments. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other system contractors to ensure all interface matters are properly identified, tracked, coordinated, and resolved in a timely manner.
The position offers the opportunity to be involved in major rail and infrastructure projects and to play an important role in ensuring smooth coordination across different parties, disciplines, and project stages.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interface Coordination & Management
- Coordinate and manage technical, design, construction, and system interfaces between internal teams, external parties, and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify interface issues, scope boundaries, dependencies, and coordination matters across different disciplines and contractors.
- Maintain and update interface registers, interface trackers, action logs, and related follow up records.
- Support the timely resolution of interface issues to avoid delays, conflicts, or disruptions to project delivery.
2. Design, Technical & Construction Coordination
- Review drawings, technical documents, method statements, and submissions to identify interface conflicts, gaps, or coordination issues.
- Coordinate with engineering, design, installation, testing, and project teams to ensure interface requirements are properly addressed.
- Work closely with civil, electrical, mechanical, power, systems, and other related parties to ensure smooth integration of project works.
- Support technical clarification, design coordination, and construction planning related to interface matters.
3. Meetings, Follow Up & Stakeholder Communication
- Organise and attend interface meetings, technical discussions, and coordination sessions with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other contractors.
- Prepare meeting minutes, interface summaries, action lists, and follow up records.
- Track outstanding interface issues and ensure proper communication and follow through with the responsible parties.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure interface matters are closed out in line with project requirements and timelines.
4. Documentation, Reporting & Project Support
- Maintain proper documentation and records for interface related correspondence, submissions, comments, approvals, and coordination matters.
- Prepare interface status updates, reports, summaries, and trackers for internal review and management reporting.
- Support project teams in ensuring interface readiness for construction, installation, testing, commissioning, energisation, and handover activities.
- Assist in ad hoc coordination and project administration matters related to interface management as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in interface coordination, engineering coordination, project coordination, or multidisciplinary construction and infrastructure project environments.
- Experience in rail, metro, MRT, electrical, power, M&E, or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
- Able to read and understand drawings, technical documents, and project specifications.
- Good understanding of coordination between different disciplines, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, documentation, communication, and follow up skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple coordination matters in a fast paced project environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general project documentation tools.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken. Ability to communicate in Chinese will be an advantage for coordination with Chinese speaking stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in railway, metro, or public infrastructure projects in Singapore will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with coordination involving clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and system contractors will be beneficial.
- Experience in managing interface registers, trackers, technical comments, and follow up actions will be preferred.
- Exposure to design submissions, site coordination, testing and commissioning interfaces, or handover related matters will be an advantage.
