Get to Know the Role

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer Intern to work closely with our development team on building and maintaining Engineering 360 and related internal platforms. As part of this role, you will be exposed to both front-end and back-end development. Our tech stack includes React and JavaScript/TypeScript in Front-end, and Golang on the Backend. Apart from this, you will also be exposed to managing and building data streams and pipelines that power engineering metrics across Grab.

This is a fully onsite role, that will be based in our office at Petaling Jaya

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will work with the development team to build and maintain our internal engineering platforms.
• You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. We follow an agile methodology with a 2-week Sprint.
• You will write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• You will troubleshoot and debug web applications and data pipelines.
• You will participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.

You will be joining the Metadata & BI Platforms team within Grab's Data Engineering Platforms department. The team builds and maintains the systems that power Grab's data intelligence: Hubble (data discovery platform), Genchi (data observability platform), Superset and Power BI (business intelligence platforms), and the Data Agent (agentic analytics platform).

As an AI Engineer Intern, you will contribute to building and improving AI-powered data platforms that make data discovery, observability, and analytics smarter and more intuitive at Grab. You will get hands-on experience building production-grade systems — from LLM integrations and agentic workflows to vector search pipelines — alongside engineers who ship AI features at scale.

This is a high-impact role where your contributions will be used by real internal users across the company. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with mentorship from experienced engineers, gaining exposure to the full AI product development lifecycle from design to deployment.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design and implement backend services and APIs that support AI-driven data platform features.
• You will integrate LLM APIs into platform workflows to enable intelligent automation and natural-language capabilities.
• You will contribute to building and orchestrating agentic systems (e.g., using LangGraph) for use cases such as data troubleshooting, SQL/code generation, and data Q&A.
• You will develop and optimize vector search and RAG pipelines to improve data retrieval and semantic understanding.
• You will debug and resolve performance or reliability issues in complex data systems, working toward production readiness.
• You will Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and data analysts to deliver high-impact features.

The ACE team is responsible for all of food, mart, dine out and reservation business. We use a microservice architecture in backend, and frontend tech stack use including (iOS, ADR, Flutter and Web). We often do platform abstraction to support our new our requirements to go online faster.

This role is for supermarket product testing and is required because we are supporting our fast-growing business. You will report to the QA Engineering Manager II and be based at Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will define test plans, test specifications, test suites, test cases and proposed tools for functional, security and performance testing
• You will understand the product/feature in-depth from the end-user point of view and the underlying implementation.
• You will work with the Product Manager, Frontend, and Backend developers to understand the feature and the implementation to build feature tests and impacted feature test cases.
• You will debug failed test cases by analyzing logs and API responses and report bugs with details. Follow-up on bugs to closure.
• You will maintain UI (Web, Mobile app) and API automation suites. Debug and correct script and data issues in automation suites.
• You will understand automation framework and add automation test cases for the new features and regression test cases

This is a hands-on role where you will write real code, participate in code reviews, and learn how to build scalable mobile applications in a fast-paced environment.
