The Manager of People Manager Upskilling Programs will lead the learning experience design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manager development programs globally that build critical manager capabilities across WD (Western Digital.) This person will drive upskilling initiatives that enable first-line and mid-level managers to effectively lead self, lead teams, and execute business strategy while fostering a high-performance culture.  

In this role, you’ll collaborate with Human Resources and all of WD’s key business functional leaders, to ensure the People Manager Learning programs are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with organizational goals. 

Success in this role requires a balance of designing and executing impactful learning experiences that drive behavior change, operational excellence to scale programs, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. 

Key Responsibilities 

Learning Program Strategy & Design 

• Design “in the flow of work life” learning experiences that fit with WD’s diverse audience needs and include Change Management and Resiliency thinking into all management programs 
• Develop comprehensive people manager training curriculum covering core competencies in alignment to WD’s desired business outcomes. Fundamental needs may be but aren’t limited to: shifting from doing the work to enabling and coaching others, delegation, prioritization and goal setting, giving and receiving feedback, recognizing quality performance, having difficult conversations that drive performance improvement and increase motivation, and managing a multi-generational workforce.  
• Create blended and scalable learning pathways and programs for new managers, experienced managers, and high-potential leaders that meet the needs and demands of our vast managerial audiences. 
• Align programs with WD's strategic priorities, overall leadership skills framework, cultural values, and business objectives. 
• Gather audience needs and feedback on current state and align to business outcomes and data insights to refine content and continuously evolve. 
• Pilot innovative learning technologies and development tools to create programs that have a measurable impact on changing behavior yet can quickly be created and delivered. 
• Willingness and flexibility to travel as needed 

Program Execution & Operations 

• Manage end-to-end program execution including scheduling, facilitator coordination, participant communications, and logistics – both virtual and in-person programs. 
• Deliver select training sessions; certify and manage internal/external facilitators and content developers. 
• Implement blended learning and change management approaches (virtual, in-person, self-paced, cohort-based community learning, spatial reinforcement techniques, and so on.) 
• Track program metrics: completion rates, satisfaction scores, behavior change, business impact

We are actively advancing technological innovation in the semiconductor package assembly, with a focus on next generation packaging technologies such as PowerQFN, Flip-Chip, and SiP. In particular, the fields of AI, High Performance Computing (HPC), and Vertical Power Delivery (VPD) are rapidly increasing their demand for higher density, higher reliability, and high thermal dissipation package technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies such as power packages for AI/HPC, VPD, Server VR core/peripheral, and Accelerator/GPU markets and contribute to the development of packaging technologies that underpin innovations shaping society, including AI and next generation mobile computing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop package and interconnect methods for Renesas’s packaging needs in the areas of Power SiP/modules, flip-chip LGA, multi-chip module and power device packaging
• Work with OSAT/CM to develop, run DOEs to optimize processes and establish process specifications.
• Work with Product Groups and Reliability teams to qualify new packages and processes within required time frame.
• Ensure smooth transition into production by resolving all process integration issues, establishing production controls and monitors, and monitoring / resolving process issues.
• Develop and maintain technical expertise on advances and innovations in advanced leadframe, power SiP/modules, and flip chip interconnects.
• Address internal and external customer complaints working with peers of Marketing, Product groups, Quality and Operations organization to satisfy growth in businesses.

• Provide technical support to the series production to ensure manufacturing meeting safety, quality, cost, and delivery through manufacturing process compliance of direct labour and quality requirement of both direct and indirect material.
• Responsible for overall manufacturing process compliance from the safety, quality, cost and delivery aspect of direct labour, machine processes and of both direct and indirect material.
• Responsible to meet the manufacturing line direct productivity (DP) as the Key Performance indicator (KPI)
• Responsible to meet the manufacturing line internal defect cost (IDC), First Pass Yield (FPY) and line failure rates (FOR) as the key performance indicator (KPI).
• Specific tasks assigned by the superior as and when necessary.
• To lead, plan (or improve the current) and buy off production line layout, workplace/workstation layout, material flow planning, space, direct labor headcount and shift requirements.
• To perform big data analysis, review, improve process parameter and trouble shoot all OEE losses of the production lines, including debugging and providing disposition to all fall out rates from production processes or machine testing.
• To lead & perform continuous improvement to the process planning and industrial engineering for existing running products (Line balancing, VT study, improvement & updating).
• To review process control parameters, checklist and perform regular process and machine, capability study (CpK, CmK, GR&R) on related processes in the series production.
• To establish standardize work through time studies, MTM/UAS on process and implement ergonomics at workstation after SOP.
• To optimize line Balancing with the evaluated time studies.
• To review, maintain and revise manufacturing engineering documents: Work Instruction, Visual aids, Line balancing, FMEA for product and process concern after SOP.
• To lead, plan and introduce cost reduction activities through process, VT, and headcount improvement.
• To coordinate, root cause and report out all second source, RPP, component. qualification builds and 1st lot monitoring build (optical carrier new mold, lens new coating & etc)
• To train and guide Trainers, Supervisors and Direct Operators on manufacturing processes.
• To support Production in achieving the effectiveness/productivity, output, FOR and quality target.
• To troubleshoot process and quality related problems in production.
• To participate in all relevant audits, coordinate in providing and implementing corrective actions.
• To participate actively in BPS activity (LLD, QVSM, VSM / VSD), identify and lead the improvement projects.

Job Summary

Lead and oversee quality assurance activities, including non-conformance management, part containment, and disposition of discrepant materials through the Material Review Board (MRB) and eNCS system. Drive engineering change reviews, 8D investigations, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality incidents and excursions. Champion continuous improvement by following through on corrective actions, participating in risk assessments (HIRADC, FMEA, FMEA, EIA, ROA), and supporting improvement initiatives. Accountable for departmental KPI performance, providing technical guidance and coaching to the team to achieve quality objectives. Responsible for quality planning, resource allocation, functional risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in Non-conformance issue part containment and disposition discussion, and execution during quality incident.
• Responsible for review and approval of discrepant lot disposition in eNCS. Hold authority to reject in the system if it does not meet release requirements.
• Lead Material Review Board (MRB) for Part Containment and Disposition.
• Responsible for Engineering Change Review, 8D Review, and coordination, interface with downstream as required, e.g., excursion-related, packaging feedback.
• Responsible for following up and following through on committed actions/evaluation lots for improvements.
• Participate in related risk assessment activities and improvement activities with relevant parties as applicable, e.g., HIRADC, EIA, ROA, FMEA, CI.
• Accountable for the assigned departmental KPI results and share with relevant parties.
• Provide technical guidance and coach the team towards the accomplishment of the KPI / objective.
• Responsible for planning the resources for the quality plan.
• Assist in ensuring the functional business risk (in the area of assigned responsibility) is adequately identified and mitigated at the best possible level.
• Responsible for the health and safety of the individual at the workplace.
