The Role:

As Senior Associate, Credit Risk Operations, you will be conducting credit risk reviews of Airwallex’s clients within a team environment. The team works collaboratively with merchants, business development teams, transaction risk analysts, compliance and legal departments to support growth objectives while mitigating and managing risk

Responsibilities:

1. Assess merchant’s credibility in both onboarding and monitoring workflows, by verifying and analyzing merchant’s business information and financial statements.

2. Provide tailored credit risk recommendations that mitigate Airwallex’s exposure while facilitating partner company growth

3. Prioritize and process the review of incoming applications to verify their accuracy and integrity, interpret them so that they are concise, exact, integral, in compliance with the policy, and register them accurately and in a timely manner

4. Deliver insights to support key business decisions ranging from onboarding strategies to pricing analysis and product launches

5. Lead process improvements to help the team deliver on key performance indicators and meet service level agreements

6. Provide feedback on data, tools, 3rd party vendors etc. for continuous ops efficiency improvement, along with on-going enhancements of policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. 5 years of relevant experience with knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, and cash flow forecasting

2. Knowledge of merchant acquiring services and the payment processing industry

3. Effective communication skills; attention to detail

4. Be a team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

5. Be highly curious and thoughtful - a proactive self-starter with a sense of urgency and bias for action, under a fast-paced environment

6. Be comfortable with complex data and analytics to draw meaningful insights. An understanding of SQL is preferred for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the administration and maintenance of customer and counterparty credit records and documentation.

• Conduct background checks and gather relevant information on counterparties.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders, including trading and operations teams, to facilitate credit-related processes.

• Coordinate with regional and corporate teams on credit administration matters when required.

• Assist with KYC (Know Your Customer) documentation and information requests from counterparties.

• Maintain accurate records in credit management systems and follow up on outstanding requirements.

• Review and compile company information, including annual reports, corporate structures, and publicly available financial data.

• Manage company data subscriptions, including invoice verification and payment coordination.

• Prepare and maintain administrative records, reports, and documentation.

• Provide administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer, Team Leader, and business units as required.
  

  
  

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Business Management or equivalent.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational and administrative abilities with attention to detail.

• Resourceful and able to gather, analyze, and interpret information independently.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Prior experience in credit administration, operations support, or related functions will be advantageous.

• Interest in the commodities, energy, oil & gas, or trading sectors will be an advantage.
