Job Summary

Lead and manage kitchen operations to deliver high-quality Korean cuisine while ensuring food safety, cost control, and staff development in a dynamic restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen team to achieve efficient and professional kitchen operations
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and compliance with safety standards to enhance customer satisfaction
• Oversee inventory management, budgeting, and cost control to optimize kitchen profitability
• Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of culinary excellence and operational efficiency
• Apply creativity and culinary skills to develop and prepare authentic Korean dishes and side dishes
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by enforcing hygiene and safety protocols

Required competencies and certifications

• Experience working in a Korean kitchen environment
• Proficiency in cooking and preparing Korean side dishes and main dishes

Responsible for food preparation and cooking to standard operating procedures.

Ensure smooth operations and allocation of duties within the kitchen.

Ensure that all orders are fulfilled in a timely manner and to expected standards.

Attend to kitchen-related duties stock- checking and inventory and ordering.

Ensure good hygiene and housekeeping standards within the kitchen.

Ensure food is stored, prepare and presented in a safe and hygiene manner.

Maintain strong relationships with key clients and wholesale buyers.

Willingness to work night shift and split shift.

Willingness to work extra hours or weekend if needed.

· Has to be always well prepared and knowledgeable about all recipes, presentations and taste of dishes established by hotel policy.

· Checks the quality of raw materials in assigned areas, as well as their storage, handling and usage.

· Conducts training on all related food preparations, hygiene and grooming standards in conjunction with the Sous Chef.

· Keeps the Sous Chef informed about all aspects of assigned section, including equipment, working environment, staff problems and departmental relations.

· Attends kitchen meetings in absence of the Sous Chef and counsels subordinate’s employees if necessary.

· To ensure that all kitchen Mise en Place is prepared according to production plan.

· Assists Sous Chef in creating and developing new dishes and recipes by keeping up with the latest market trends.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Completion of GCE ‘O’; or minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to develop test recipes and/or techniques for food preparation/presentation.

· Knowledge of food inventory

Pay: $14.00 per hour
