Aliena is a leading Singapore-based space-tech company producing Hall thruster satellite engines. In January 2022 Aliena broke the record for the smallest satellite ever to launch with a Hall plasma thruster on board. Since then, the company closed several national and international sales and R&D contracts with customers from Europe and Asia. Our engines are mission agnostic, serving all types of missions in any branch of space exploration or space economy, from very low Earth orbits to deep space.
By joining our dynamic and visionary team, you will take part in defining the future of state-of-the-art low power plasma propulsion systems.
Your responsibilities
● Drive the research and development effort for the mechanical structures as well as fluidic tubing and electrical harnessing management of our propulsion systems
● Design, build, integrate fluidic and thermal control systems, based on heritage architectures
● Produce technical drawings
● Drive the assembly, integration, and test (AIT) of designed subsystems
● Plan and drive the testing and qualification of the fluidic system and mechanical structures
● Collaborate with and support the plasma testing and electrical engineering teams in the development and integration of the overall propulsion system
● Collaborate with the Production team to support the development AIT equipment from a mechanical point of view
● Assist with the thermal and mechanical (static, dynamic) analyses of the propulsion systems
● Collaborate with the mission managers and product owners to plan for the production stage of the propulsion systems
● Suggest design improvements to the overall propulsion system architecture from the mechanical and thermal points of view
● Produce AIT documentation
Qualifications
● Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or similar fields
● Previous experience with mechanical design, technical drawings, and simulations (thermal, mechanical, fluid) is required
● Fluency with CAD software(SOLIDWORKS) is required
● Experience with MATLAB/GNUOctave/Scilab is required
● Competency in numerical simulation software (ANSYS, FEMM, COMSOL, SOLIDWORKS) for thermal, mechanical(static, dynamic), and fluid (CFD) simulations is a plus
● Experience with mechanical(vibration, shock) and thermal (thermal cycling) testing is a plus
● Experience with design, simulation, and testing of space systems is a plus
