RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, develop, and maintain accurate, clear, and structured technical documentation for automated equipment, systems, and associated software.
• Work closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to gather technical information related to machine design, control logic, safety systems, and operational behaviour.
• Interpret and translate complex automation concepts (e.g. system workflows, machine sequences, interlocks, alarms, and fault scenarios) into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
• Apply a user‑centric approach to documentation, ensuring clarity, usability, and accessibility for operators, technicians, maintenance personnel, and engineers.
• Maintain and adhere to the DCC Style Guide to ensure consistency in format, terminology, and presentation across all documentation deliverables.
• Manage documentation lifecycle activities, including version control, updates, reviews, and archival in line with product changes or system revisions.
• Create and enhance documentation with appropriate diagrams, screenshots, flowcharts, and images using graphic tools such as Photoshop to support understanding of automated systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to documentation processes, including interest in documentation automation and efficient content reuse.
• Provide additional documentation support as required, including updates arising from equipment upgrades, system modifications, audits, or customer feedback.
• Support documentation management on SharePoint, including creation and maintenance of pages and document libraries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in MS Word, including document structuring, styles, formatting, and template usage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to technical accuracy and detail.
• Strong research skills and ability to work effectively and independently with subject matter experts to obtain accurate technical information.
• Proven ability to translate complex automation and equipment-related concepts into clear, structured, and easy-to-understand documentation.
• Knowledge of or interest in Adobe Photoshop or similar tools for image editing, annotations, and technical illustrations.

Department Overview:

The Stage Business Unit (BU) at Akribis Systems houses teams spanning 4 international locations responsible for R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management of Akribis' motion stage products.

We work on a wide range of products ranging from ultraprecision systems that achieve sub-nanometer-level precision for semiconductor applications, to large-format and highly dynamic gantry systems capable of accelerating hundreds of kilograms of mass in excess of 4 G's. Collectively, the BU delivered in excess of >SGD 70 million worth of world-class motion stages to an international customer base in 2025, and is set for rapid growth in the years to come.

Stages, also known as motion systems, are complex mechatronics systems used to precisely position or move payloads. Precision stages form the heart of many industrial machines underpinning our modern society, including semiconductor lithography and metrology tools, smartphone production lines, CNC machine tools, 3D printers, and more.

The Stage Product Development (PDV) team, based in our Singapore office, focuses on bespoke and customized stage design. Within the team, the mechanical, electrical, and motion control engineers work together to turn customer requirements into products ready for manufacture. Within the BU, the PDV team collaborates closely with stage manufacturing, project management, R&D teams, and teams located at Akribis' global factories and offices, during various phases of the product life cycle. In the wider Akribis organization, the PDV team partners with the sales and field service teams to ensure commercial success of our products.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Generate 2D part drawing and other CAD format from SolidWorks model
• Generate 2D cable drawing from a set template
• Ensure drawings comply with the company's standard
• Update existing drawings (e.g., amend errors, update template, add details etc.)
• Assist in generating engineering interface drawings
• Assist in BOM release (e.g., check BOM details such as part number, quantity, OM, manufacturer and ensure proper BOM linkage within Akribis Systems)
• Assist in completing assembly and testing plan by liaising with manufacturing team
• Prepare assembly and testing requirement forms based on customer's requirement
• Generate work instructions with designer's input
• Maintain and organise project documentation until project closure
• Support basic troubleshooting at production level
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support design validation and documentation

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled craftsperson (technician) to join our Stage business unit. The Craftsperson is responsible for assembling, aligning, adjusting, and fine-tuning highly complex mechanical and electronic components with an exceptional degree of accuracy and precision. This role demands technical skills, experience, and the ability to handle intricate assemblies that require meticulous attention to detail. The craftsperson will work closely with engineering, to ensure all assemblies meet the highest standards of precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Component Assembly:

· Assemble electromechanical[1]products such as high-precision stages and motion systems according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.

· Utilize advanced hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment, including microscopes and precision measuring instruments, to perform assembly tasks.

· Ensure all components are aligned and fit together correctly with micro-level precision.

· Ensure all assemblies are packed properly for delivery

Technical Interpretation:

· Read, interpret, and execute complex technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.

· Follow and refine detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest level of precision.

Testing and Calibration:

· Conduct comprehensive functional tests on completed assemblies to verify and validate proper operation under stringent conditions.
