What You’ll Do

• Conduct literature reviews on multimodal persuasion, visual communication, and the evaluation of large vision-language models.
• Support the design and development of datasets and evaluation frameworks for understanding interactions between images and text.
• Assist in evaluating and enhancing multimodal models for analysing and generating interleaved image-text content
• Summarize experimental results and contribute to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and academic publications.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor degree with background in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong interest in multimodal AI, vision-language models.
• Basic experience with Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch is preferred.
• Familiarity with natural language processing, computer vision, or large language models is an advantage.
• Good analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a research team.

Job Description

This position involves working on a project related to the coordination of large teams of autonomous robots (e.g., UAVs) in mixed cooperative-competitive environments. The Research Assistant will support the development, simulation, testing, and implementation of collaborative control algorithms for multi-agent robotic systems, under the guidance of the PI and senior researchers. The work will first focus on simulation studies and may later involve hardware experiments with project partners. The role provides an opportunity to work with the PI’s team at the National University of Singapore, as well as industrial, government, and overseas collaborators. The successful candidate is expected to be motivated, responsible, and willing to learn, with a Master’s-level background in robotics, control, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related disciplines. Prior exposure to multi-agent systems, robotic control, reinforcement learning, or autonomous aerial vehicles would be an advantage.

The main research tasks for the project include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the development and evaluation of conventional and learning-based controllers for collaborative control of multi-agent robotic systems in mixed cooperative-competitive environments.
• Implementing and testing control algorithms in simulation environments, with possible support for hardware experiments on robotic or UAV platforms.

Qualifications

• Good programming skills in Python.
• Basic experience with PyTorch, deep learning, reinforcement learning, or related machine learning tools.
• Basic understanding of robotics, control systems, machine learning, or multi-agent systems.
• Experience with robotic simulation environments or aerial simulators would be an advantage.
• Prior exposure to UAVs, autonomous robots, or hardware experiments would be beneficial but is not required.• Ability to read research papers and summarize key technical ideas.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a research team.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Research Officer / Research Officer to develop and support our molecular and omics capabilities in nutrigenomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics for large-scale aquaculture nutrition, health, and welfare research. This role combines hands-on technical expertise, platform development, and team coordination, bridging experimental biology with high-throughput molecular analyses.

Responsibilities

• Establish, optimize, and maintain workflows in:
  · RNA extraction, QC, and library preparation (bulk RNA-seq; transcriptomics)
  · Protein extraction, digestion, preparation for LC-MS/MS-based proteomics
  · Nutrigenomics assays linked to diet, stress, immunity, and growth
• Ensure reproducibility, traceability, and SOP standardization across experiments
• Coordinate sample pipelines from farm/experimental systems to molecular analysis
• Work closely with PIs, postdocs, and students to:
• · Design sampling strategies aligned with nutritional / physiological hypotheses
• · Integrate omics endpoints into feeding, vaccination, and challenge trials
• Support interpretation of molecular results in a biological and nutritional context
• Contribute to manuscripts, reports, and grant deliverables (methods, QA/QC sections)
• Ensure day-to-day operationsof the molecular laboratory
• Guide and mentor technicians, students, and visiting researchers
• Manage consumables, reagents, service contracts, and equipment maintenance
• Ensure compliance with biosafety, animal ethics, and institutional guidelines

Requirements

• PhD or MSc with strong experience in molecular biology, omics, or nutritional physiology
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in transcriptomics and/or proteomics
• Strong background in sample preparation, QC, and experimental rigor
• Proven ability to support laboratory operations and coordinate multiple projects
